Anyone have Vagus nerve problems causing strange, unnerving symptoms?

Posted by joannemm34293 @joannemm30809, Mar 23, 2023

Does anyone else have debilitating symptoms that affects the entire body, especially in the morning hours, and my Arrhythmia Dr told me I have Vagus Nerve malfunctions that causes major issues where my heart goes off beat, I have to continually use the bathroom and I get an overall body feeling of just feel sick, rush of nausea etc.

I still have the overall muscle twitching and strange internal vibrations as well as tinnitus and thumping sounds in my right ear.

Does anyone else have Vagus nerve problems that cause strange, unnerving symptoms??

@19281928 it has been my experience that when doctors do not have an answer for your particular problem(s), and they know you have a history of fibromyalgia they point to fibromyalgia as the cause.

My neighbour, who also has fibromyalgia, has said she deliberately leaves fibromyalgia off her list of medical conditions for that reason.

@rashida I agree, that's a good idea not to mention it.
For the last 30 years I've been blaming everything on fibromyalgia . I think that rather than search for an answer, the doctor finds it easier to chalk it up to fibromyalgia (the doctors I have anyway) it also depends on your insurance/ wealth they don't try very hard if they can't make money.

@19281928 you are so right about insurance/wealth! I can see a specialist’s enthusiasm wane when I tell him/her I don’t have extended health insurance - every. time! I have decided to leave Fibromyalgia and GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) off my list of health conditions too!

@rashida, you mention your neighbor having better success with doctors when she leaves fibromyalgia off of her list of conditions she is dealing with, and @19281928 you commented that you have blaming things on your fibromyalgia for the past 30 years for similar reasons.

Unfortunately, Fibromyalgia does tend to be a dump-all in a lot of situations. I would like you to meet @rwinney who may have information to share that will help you, @19281928 take positive steps to improve your quality of life.

I have very similar symptoms. Have you found anything that helps you?

OMG!!! This is me and it started 9 years ago. I was sick for months with the same symptoms after my first scyncope attack. I’ve been to 20 specialists, most at Cleveland Clinic. I have had every test done and my heart was fine, no Potts, my thyroid was low and vitamin B and D low. Doctors had no idea why I was having nausea, dizziness, tinnitus, crushing fatigue, internal body vibrations. I’ve learned it’s a vagus nerve disfunction and happens before and after I use the bathroom for either. Exercise has helped a lot and cold plunges as well. Recently I ended up in the ER because I kept having recurrent syncope events in a 14 hour span and they found I have LBBB. I’m going back to cardiology and neurology and hope they can help me this time. I have these syncope events in public and it’s embarrassing. I hope you found help for your health issues.

Are you sure it’s a vagus nerve issue ? When I felt weird, we thought it might be that, but imaging indicated something far different, which we caught in time….wishing you the best.
