Rectal Prolapse: What are my options?
I need to finally address my rectal prolapse. What are my options? Anyone else with this problem?
Thank you.

@jolam forgive the typos and autocorrects.
@summergirl621 age was considered, as well as other medical issues that may affect the outcome. But in general my Dr said they do this surgery on women of all ages.
I’m 80, has anyone had perineal surgery for anal prolapse and what were the results?
At age 90, In May I had surgery for rectal prolapse. My digestive system is still learning a different schedule but otherwise all is well. Such a relief to feel normal again.
Which type of surgery did you have, through abdomen or peritonium?
Meant perineum. I’ve read that they do the perineum method in older people.
@mswiller
Had to be perineum . Very little pain.
Thanks
@sueblue I have a Perenium Prolapse and was referred to a colorectal surgeon who said that she would not advise surgery as Prolapse usually comes down again.She referred me to a Pelvic Floor Phisio. for Pelvic Floor exercises and also got her secretary to organise an Irregation Nurse to contact me.This is a system to wash out the anus and works very well.
