My Lung Nodules Wax and Wane Why?

I’m being tested to determine why I have occurrences of breathing problems.

I just had three test at Mayo Phoenix last week, chest, heart, and a walking exercise. I’ve read the results of all 3, and the chest results said I have nodules that wax and wane. I have gotten 3 new small ones since October.
From what I’ve heard, small nodules don’t cause trouble breathing.

Anyone have any ideas or suggestions for me?

Long nodules generally waxing and waning is indicative of MAC infection. Do you have MAC? My CT scans most always end with that statement. That is pretty typical verbiage for MAC. Do you have an ID doctor? Have you had a bronchoscopy? So glad you aren’t feeling sick. Irene5

I saw the Pulmonologist today at Mayo Phoenix
He said everything looks fine. I told him that I am frustrated. He is going to have me go through Pulmonary Physical Therapy.
I explained that I really have trouble breathing when I am in pain, and having to be physically active. That’s when I really feel it.

He didn’t say anything about the fact that I need to lose weight. I know that will help. I have Functional Neurological Disorder FND. It prevents me from walking straight and falling over, I’ve fallen out of a chair, and my bed.

We shall see how this PT goes

@SusanEllen66 Wow, like you need another challenge to movement along with your lung issues!😬

Can you use a stationary bike? I have vertigo issues, and can no longer ride a bicycle, I am considering either a standard or recumbent three-wheeler, is that possible for you?

Specializes PT's are usually very clever about figuring out what we CAN do, so here's hoping yours goes well.

@sueinmn Thanks. The FND is rather dangerous of course. It has also given me double vision…
Several months ago my doctor at Banner sent me for physical therapy, and occupational therapy.
Neither one knew what to do with me. The best advice I got from the occupational therapist was to buy a long handle shower back brush.
I already had everything covered ie. shower chair, grab bars, a reacher, 3 canes and 2 walkers. So, the back brush was next, I guess.
Bending down to pick something up can land me on the floor. The brush is supposed to help me wash my legs and feet, lol.

I don’t know about a bike. I’m afraid I would fall out of a chair if I tried chair “yoga”.

Thank goodness I have hobbies I can enjoy.
