To those of you who have experienced metallosis, did you seek out a heavy metal poisoning specialist to help you through? Or did your ortho know the procedure to follow?

@hurkey You are fortunate - as are about 50% of people with metal-on-metal implants. My doctor is puzzled at why some people do well, and others begin to have problems within a few years.

@sueinmn I always appreciate your input; thank you for that. I’m beginning to understand that and why you would say that as I read others stories. The more I read about metallosis the more I think it depends greatly on body chemistry.
