Do you have a very high LPa?
Just found out my LPa is 414. I'm so scared. Haven't heard back from a cardiologist yet. Already on Rosuvastatin. Over all Cholesterol is 214. Have high HDL(90) and LDL is 99. Does anyone have any insight to share?

christinecaron, LP(a) is genetic. You probably have it from both parents. You might want to look into the stage 2 clinical trial for Crisper. https://www.nejm.org/doi/full/10.1056/NEJMoa2511778 There are conditions that can raise LP(a) levels diabetes, hypothyroidism, kidney disease, infection. Medications can raise the levels--statins 10 to 15%, hormone treatment and others.
It is great that you have been tested. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12045749/
Best wishes.

1 ReactionMy LPa is 278! I’ve seen two cardiologists and put me on an “aggressive treatment “ of Resuvastatin 40mg, baby aspirin daily. Plus diet/exercise/ control BP/sleep..
My recent LDL is 28 and my Drs are very happy.
LPa is not a time ticking Bomb but a risk that we shouldn’t ignore.
@tingmav90
Thank you so much for your response. Still waiting to connect with a cardiologist. In the mean time I have made all the dietary changes necessary for a healthy heart. Fingers crossed🤞
