Has Anyone Tried the New drug Ibsrela for IBS-C ?
I saw that it was approved for adults with IBS - Constipation. I am always looking for new and improved drugs for this condition that I have had all my life. Painful hard rock -like stool with cramps and long-term occurence. So tired of it. Today the usual cocktail of laxatives did not work for me. So miserable and hoping for relief.

@phxbarb I have been on Ibsrela for 8 days, and it just started "working" yesterday. I'm curious to see how I'll do on it. I've read to take it 1 to 1-1/2 hours before eating. My doctor told me 20 minutes before...that didn't work. I think you need to play around with the timing, maybe. I've had constipation issues since I was three months old...I'm 65 now. It's a nightmare!!!

4 ReactionsMy gastroenterologist mentioned this to me yesterday; I'm always hesitant to start yet another medication. So far I've kinda - sorta managed constipation with a MiraLax regimen, but wonder if this would be better. And of course, always concerned about side effects and interactions with other medications.
Thank you

1 Reaction@mrskra Did you get the timing for taking Ibsrela worked out for you? I have been on it for almost 2 weeks and it is not working yet for me. I was told to take it just before eating so I have been taking it about 5 - 10 minutes before eating but no luck.

1 Reaction@kjcaron It did not work for me and I gave up. Back to otc stuff and miralax. Hope you have better luck. I just could not wait any longer without some progress.
