Is anyone using a teledoc neurologist?

Posted by sandyar @sandyar, Dec 31, 2025

We have a neurologist and he diagnosed my husband with early Alzheimer's in September. Our next appointment is in February and I need to change it due to his cataract surgery. I would also like a prescription for sundowning which has gotten much worse in this last month. No one in his office picks up calls and it is near impossible to get a return call. This is a problem that several of his patients have complained about. I am wondering if anyone has used a doctor on teledoc. I am losing patience with this practice and we need to have a neurologist who can be contacted when needed. We have the test results and the diagnosis so I am thinking that teledoc would work for regular appointments to monitor progression.

I found neurologist to be a waste of time and money. There is no cure so they asked a few questions and say see ya next time. My reg M.D. fills my scripts and handles uti's when it develops. My wife is in mid to late stage 5. Just my 2 cents

My husband and I have seen two different neurologists and my impression is that they are not overly interested in dealing with cognitive/memory issues. There are a number of things that led me to that impression which I won't go into here.

On the bright side, we're lucky to have two hospitals somewhat close with "memory centers". It takes a few months to get in but am hoping the neurologists there are more helpful.

Best of luck!

I just don't see Teladoc to be of any valid help. My husband has dementia and we go for visits every 6 months, we have a standard conversation, we do and change nothing and then we leave. I don't think Doctors are very interested in this condition.

My husband's neurologist is also a teledoc, so we've done both; we've gone in for appointments, to his infusion center for infusions (he's normally not there), as well as a few of our appointments have been on the phone. I think the teledoc depends on what you need them for. MRI and Petscan readings, to determine the progression, can be given to the patient over the phone. I like the handson of a doctor, but from what I've seen, the staff seems to be interfacing more with my husband now, doing the "lequembe" infusions, vs. the doctor. We're into the 9th infusion, up to 18 infusions to go, and then the doctor will see him. Unless there are complications along the way, with varying MRI's during the infusion process. HOpe this helps.
