@lisalucier that is a picture they took of the implant after they installed it in my skull I have more photos of the surgery being a harley rider since I was 13 im 41 now but when I was hit by a drunk driver I couldn't get any help as far as me being a victim so I started a awareness organization called RIDERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVERS or RADD I talk at victim impact panel meetings for people who got dui charges or substance abuse meetings honestly I never been a drinker or used drugs most people wouldn't believe me because of how I look being covered in tattoos before my wreck I went to college and became a master certified harley davidson technician i was making 98 dollars a hour but since the wreck with all the health issues im on disability and it doesn't pay close to what I use to make but sorry I got off track my surgeon and his staff knew about this so they took pictures of my surgery so I can use them to educate others on how their choice of driving impaired effects others for their lives

@randallshields56 wow response- lost a brother and family member 1977 in tri cycle head on other party's fault- last brother built Harleys from the ground up and put him in the ground 2022. looked like a hells angel rider he also had Tats that even you would have been proud of. I had numerous cycles in my day. would have one now but don't because i respect my daughters wishes. I know many hog riders that drink and drive but know there limits or don't drive after a beer. depends where you live and the codes you live by. said my peace im out. Heal healthy and have a blessed day. this day and age the drivers out there are not very good at driving sober let alone drive.

27 vears ago a fall going to my car in an ice ladened parking lot caused a severe concussion. I was knocked out for about five minutes. I came to face down. I broke the radial head in my right arm and did severe damage to my spine. I was wearing a soft collar neck brace which didn't allow for natural movement of my neck. Damaged vagus and phrenic nerves. Dysautonomia dx as well. Having heart and diaphragm problems due to above listed items. Muscular contractures are now stimulated mostly by touch and sometimes position. My diaphragm does not function properly as it seizes up with contractures. People scream at me to breathe but until contracture releases it is impossible. Afib has become a problem for my heart due to vagus nerve damage. Looking forward to going to a local excellent rehab once workers' comp approves.

Hi Chris
My son had emergency surgery in 2016 for a intraventricle central Neurocytoma of a massive tumor- had no symptoms of a headache - major complaint frequently was upset stomach with vomiting that the emergency room always dismissed as a bad virus or other digestive ailments which all proved not it was from the tumor growing in his brain- he’s since had 9 brain surgeries one of which they inserted a VP PRO GAV SHUNT - result of these he remained with many disabilities and seizures- he’s tried multiple seizure meds thru the years to finally after 2023 having his last surgery of an anterior temporal lobectomy and taking xcopri along with onfi he has been free of experiencing his constant outward seizures , but he is suffering on a daily basis inward seizures like electrical painful sensations in his brain that neurologists can’t seem to alleviate - he tried migraine meds , Botox and injections to no avail and stopped - he continues with his daily therapies and keeps a positive outlook it’s our hope they will find a relief for him to have a quality life

@jemollica ---OMGawd, I am so sorry for all that your son--and you the Mom, of course-- have been through and are continuing to live with. If I could be with you both in person, I'd ask permission to hug you both... I'd ask to make supper for you. ETC. Thank you for being here, for sharing your & your son's life story, thus far---I say 'thus far' because it can improve...I pray you have support professionals around you, things you do to bring inner peace --- If you don't mind having heart-based people such as those at "Vajrayana Foundation" Calif saying prayers for son's recovery, please let me know his 1st name....or prayers can be done with "Jem's son" --- I will keep you both in my personal prayers. Deep bow of love and respect. Om Mani Padme Hum

Does anyone still have pain around the eye? If you were hit there. Airbag hit me. I'm curious how long that will last.

I saw an ophthamologist. But it's like my eyes are at different depths. Last week, I had significant more pain and a weird electrical, shockey, feeling. Tingling between eyes and down along nose. Bad enough that I made a DR appt. I've been battling chronic sinus infections on that side too (19mo). DR commented my face was asymmetrical; cheek flat - then asked me to smile and said that left side wasn't responding right. That it could nerve damage or tingling from healing.

So I'm off to get a couple of CTs. MDsave.com is $586 (total for both). First time using this service. Prepaid for vouchers, told DR where to fax orders, then have to call and set up appointments tomorrow.

Can anyone relate?

Have no idea what to think. Have no one that had this happen to them. But I'm guessing it's facial fractures and nerve damage. Any ideas?

Hi @patty78962 - so sorry to hear that an airbag caused damage around your eye. Hopefully the airbag prevented other worse occurrences?

Sounds wise to be pursuing the scans you are getting. I hope this provides some helpful information for you and your doctor.

What did the ophthalmologist think might be the underlying cause for what they noticed in your face? Were they thinking fractures might be lurking underneath? Did the doctor mention if they'd treat you or refer you elsewhere if that is the case?
