Flutter valve and nebulizer together at the same time

Can I nebulize by breathing in the solution and out through my flutter valve-killing two birds with one stone? If, so, how and when do I do the huff cough. I was nebulizing first and then using my flutter valve and doing the huff cough. What is the recommended procedure?

NJH recommends both at the same time, Dr Shane says sodium chloride first, wait and the do aerobika. I tried both and I think the “ together” works better for my almost nothing coughing up bronchiectasis. I also tried, and do it: first half a vial only nebulizing and then attaching aerobica to aeroclipse for the “together”for the other half. Just try what works for you

Dr. Winthrop at OHSU also recommends nebbing saline first, then Aerobika, so that’s what I do.

For me nebulizing with the aerobika attached produces 4x the amount of sputum!!!

My Pulmonologist recommends nebulizing while using the aerobika and the vest all at the same time!
I have had excellent results using this regimen!

I have been using the aerobics and nebulizer together for several years. My pulmunologist suggested adding the vest. With the vest I did not notice any increase in sputum.

@jjudah I get best results when I nebulize saline attached to the Aerobika.

My question on combining Aerobika to the nebulizer (in particurlar the breath activated Aeroclipse since it's the same manufacturer): Do you breathe in and out, the same as when you just plain nebulize? I'm afraid to breathe "in" and introduce any pathogens. But it must be that you are sterilizing your aerobika daily, the same as you are sterilizing the nebulizer cup.

@ursala7 Yes, if you attach the Aerobika to the nebulizer then you would have to breath and out through the device. I rinse everything, soak in warm water with 3 drops of clear dw liquid for 10 minutes and then put everything in the baby bottle sterilizer to sterilize and dry.

I use the Aeroclipse alone at first and then add the Aerobica using both together. It works well for me this way. That is why I am hesitant to get the Pari-E flow. I don’t know if I’d be saving time since the aerobics does not attach to it.
