Long term side effects of Aimovig?
Hi,
I have been on Aimovig shots for 2 years , it really helped my migraine. But 4 months ago I started having these episodes which last few days , with shortness of breath, tingling in my face , tension feelings in head , fatigue and they did all kind of tests and everything is normal. I was wondering if it could be side effects of Aimovig.

You mentioned experiencing visual migraines in the last 4-6 weeks. What types of symptoms did you experience previously with your migraines?
I had terrible experience with Aimovig, got every side effect listed at bottom of European clinical trials. Infections everywhere, so much fatigue, I didn’t realize it was Aimovig making me sicker until administrator of private Facebook group told me. I landed in Cedars ICU 5 weeks. Must have angels watching over me because 10 of Cedars finest said I was an hour from checking out.

2 Reactions@lisep - wow, this is a harrowing story. Thankful you made it through.
Has another treatment worked better for you for migraine?
@lisalucier
Hello, I have been using Aimovig for @ 3-4 yrs. now and have not had any of the side effects that you are experiencing; mostly good results; less migraines, but I still get them even when I think I am following all my warning signs, no chocolate, red wine, etc.
Now researching B2 and migraines; some think this seems to help ?
@lisalucier Apologies for the delay in replying but work has been full on recently.
Prior to the Aimovig I spent an average of 9 full days a month in bed with brain splitting headache, aura, light sensitivity and nausea and sickness. It was totally debilitating. Which is why the Aimovig was a game changer for me and worth every penny I spent on it

1 ReactionI was was finally diagnosed with Vestibular migraines after 4 months of hell...pain every day, dizziness, balance and depression... couldn't function and take care of
myself properly.
I was put on nortripyline and it really helped considerably but had brain fog and still light headache all the time.
My wonderful neurologist is putting me on Aimovig injections once a month starting this week.
This has been a nightmare because at 78 I am active and have a great mind but this is slowly wiping me out.
Any thoughts, anyone?

1 ReactionI have been taking Aimovig injections for the past year or so. They have been very helpful. I too had adverse reactions to Notripyline and had to stop taking it. I started on the lower dose injections of Aimovig: 70mg and went to the 140mg every 28 days. I have found Aimovig to be very helpful in helping to mitigate headaches. It does not take them away, it makes them more manageable.
