Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube

Posted by jessie1990 @jessie1990, Oct 30, 2025

Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 Yes. I got the biopsy. The pulmonary specialist knew the results, and the surgeon obviously knew. I tried to read them, and it was Greek to me. That is why I do not understand any of this. And you know what waiting feels like. When I had the video conference with the pain specialist, it seemed like she was saying it would not take long for me to actually be seen by her. But I have not gotten any follow-up, even though I have left her messages for an actual appt. All very confusing. If I find out the first surgeon operated needlessly, I am not sure what I will do. I know what I would like to do.

@nannybb oh my God yes I sure do no how it feels waiting even though I've been told it was a slow growing tumor by biopsys scans and having one lymph node to be negative it's still very frustrating noing I have to wait on more results

@jessie1990 I so appreciate you sharing your good results! The lymph nodes being clear is wonderful. How are you feeling post-surgery? Any particular problems with pain, breathing, etc.?

@jessie1990 Hey Jess, so glad you sound like you are feeling better and super glad your report came back so positive. This should help with all your worry and anxiety. I finally got an appt. with the pain specialist for the first week of Jan. I know what she wants to do is going to really hurt, but I've just got to get through it and get back to work. So, so happy for you❣️

@nannybb

I'm glad that you will be seeing a pain specialist. You mentioned that you think what she will do will really hurt. What type of pain treatment do you expect will happen? I hope it goes better than expected and that you get some pain relief.

I look forward to hearing from you again. Will you post more about it?
