Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

@jessie1990 I just wrote you a novel and hit the wrong button. I did not know this has been a 5 year battle for you. Do you think weather has an affect on you? It does me. I am thinking of looking into light therapy. Were you able to find the doctor I spoke of?

1 Reaction@nannybb did you go back to work
@jessie1990 Not yet. I saw the surgeon this morning. He wants me to continue acupuncture. If I can't get better relief, he wants me to get a cortisone shot between my ribs. If that does not work, then he would consider P.T. I asked about P.T. 4 weeks ago. I'm SO frustrated.
@nannybb I'm still in pain also pain seems to be worse when I take deep breaths pain relief isn't even working for me may I ask what PT is

I'm so sorry you are in more pain. You think you over did it on your week-end? Do you think you need to be checked out at Hospital?
@nannybb I've said it to my GP she said its because of every thing that's going on once I get surgery it should all subside I don't no it's like when I touch my ribs they also hurt

1 ReactionI stopped taking Tylenol yesterday just to see how bad the pain really is. I thought it was getting better with the acupuncture. Now I'm not so sure. The pain seems to be between my ribs and my ribs themselves. I know how scary this can be Jess, but maybe, just maybe, once they get all of the tumor out things will ease up for you. This cold weather is not helping. The doctor said sometimes it just takes longer for one person over another. 💕

1 Reaction@nannybb ya my pain seems to be my ribs also when I touch they hurt or when I take a deep breath but the end of my lung is partially callapsed also I'm hoping when it's all removed it will all go away so fed up now
@jessie1990 I hear you. I'm fed up too. For my surgeon to mention P.T. yesterday as an alternative that I suggested 4 weeks ago, but still not give permission? Makes no sense. What exactly are they going to be operating on? How will they treat the fact you still have a partial collapse lung? I know when they went back and aspirated the rest of the fluid in my lower lobe, they told me the lung would then fill up that space. Nothing more has been said about that, but the coughing did stop. Hopefully you will get more answers than I have gotten. Do you have someone who can be proactive for you?
