Posted by jessie1990 @jessie1990, Oct 30, 2025

Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

Not fun procedures, but it is of some comfort just having a diagnosis. 🙏🏻

@californiazebra Thanks for the feedback. I appreciate it. I will put on my big girl britches that day and will be mentally prepared for some discomfort. Knowing it is coming really helps. Thanks again.

Some of the potential symptoms, like chills and night sweats, I attributed to chemo. I wouldn't know the difference. The doctor agreed.

@jessie1990 what the heck is a red? Orange sounds bad enough.

Well, it used to be. Not sure how much was destroyed in the flood. That was a horrible mess.

Sorry you’re missing out on Santa. There should be more opportunities before Christmas. Your aunt’s place sounds nice. I love the wildlife here. The US is so big, each state can be like visiting a different country with different landscape, weather, culture and accents. Keep your bucket list going and you’ll get to it all one day. You’re young. Lots to look toward to. 😊

@jessie1990 Typical. My doctor knew I had a spot on my lung, but I don't recall being told about it. I have a friend, same thing. Both of us found out when the tumors started growing. From doing research, they now think there may be a link to their development by too much radiation. I have had a huge amount of radiation...
X-rays, CTs, MRIs etc. I just read about this possible connection today. I've always read they have no idea how you get this type of lung cancer.

@nannybb did they no it was typical before they went in to remove it

@tomrennie Thank you so much My son has gotten involved. I'm now scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. Maybe something will show why I'm on such pain.

@nannybb That is awesome. Progress is hopefully being made. Sometimes the squeaky wheel is the one that gets grease. Squeaking loudly usually helps. Good luck with the MRI. Hopefully the results will explain some things.

We are also getting ready to enjoy several days of rain!! I just parked my recliner in front of the patio window so I can enjoy it. We don’t get a lot of rain in Southern California so the 3” were expecting is huge. Since California is a desert climate it doesn’t absorb water well so that will cause flooding in some areas, but I’m in a good location to enjoy the rain. Always hoping for a rainbow as an added bonus. I’ll be taking my car out for a spin later to enjoy God’s free car wash today. My little squirrel and bird friends are here hoping for a treat before the rain starts. I’m surrounded by pine trees just full of squirrels. Several species of birds. Very peaceful. Enjoy your storm that will keep Ireland so green and pretty. 😊

@jessie1990 @nannybb I will be enjoying the rain after it passes @californiazebra. I live one state east of her in southern Arizona. We get even less rain. Here is an example of why it is easy to get valley fever from breathing in soil spores where I live:
