Benign carcinoid tumor in bronchi tube
Hi I've been diagnosed with a benign typical carcinoid tumor in my bronchi tube in right lung was found when I went to A&E with pneumonia back in July of this year I've had 2 bronchoscopys 2 biopys which showed benign carcinoid tumor I was sent for ct scan mri scan and pet scan pet scan was clear I was put under general anesthetic as my lung specialist said he might be able to remove tumor by going down my throat instead of haven surgery but didn't work but he was able to take 40% of tumor out as it was blocking my air way that's how pneumonia set in the 40% he removed also came back benign carcinoid 1 lymph node was removed and checked also clear now I need surgery to remove the rest I'm so confused as doctor said its a benign tumor then Google is telling me it's a low grade cancerous tumor but doctor nor lung specialist said anything about cancer just said its benign doesnt benign mean non cancerous and can any one tell me how surgery went thank you bless you all xx

1 Reaction@nannybb It has to be frustrating. Unfortunately, I am unaware of any solution. Weaving one's way through the healthcare maze can be a challenge. Living with pain can make it worse. All that I can suggest is to keep pounding on the required doors until you can get the help that you need. I am sorry that you have to go through this.
@californiazebra Thanks for the input. I have a bronchoscopy scheduled for 11/20. The docs want to have a look inside my left lung and sample the infection. They want to know specifically what the infection is before determining treatment. I am excited to get it done. I want to know too. I will keep you posted. I also had some skin biopsies done at my dermatology appointment today. Fingers crossed that if they were basal cell carcinomas, all of it was removed during the biopsy. I will know in a day or two.

1 Reaction@tomrennie Thank you so much My son has gotten involved. I'm now scheduled for an MRI on Tuesday. Maybe something will show why I'm on such pain.

Not fun procedures, but it is of some comfort just having a diagnosis. 🙏🏻

I love thunder and lightning but we don’t get much of that either. I was in Tennessee last year and enjoyed wonderful thunder storms with lightning all across the sky.

1 Reaction@jessie1990 Typical. My doctor knew I had a spot on my lung, but I don't recall being told about it. I have a friend, same thing. Both of us found out when the tumors started growing. From doing research, they now think there may be a link to their development by too much radiation. I have had a huge amount of radiation...
X-rays, CTs, MRIs etc. I just read about this possible connection today. I've always read they have no idea how you get this type of lung cancer.

Sorry you’re missing out on Santa. There should be more opportunities before Christmas. Your aunt’s place sounds nice. I love the wildlife here. The US is so big, each state can be like visiting a different country with different landscape, weather, culture and accents. Keep your bucket list going and you’ll get to it all one day. You’re young. Lots to look toward to. 😊

2 Reactions@californiazebra I believe Tennessee was the first time I heard and saw all you mentioned. I felt like Noah...lol I was with a friend hiking in the Smokey Mountains and we had to run for cover at a picnic spot. I LOVED IT! Another friend took a video of a rain storm in Fl. for me so I could play it over and over. Joy and jubulation...ha
