Lung nodules & scared!
March 1, 2017 at 7:44 pm
I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

@pattymac, I am happy for you to now have your Internist involved. It sounds like he knows you and will be helpful in coordinating your care and making referrals for you.
Patty, I realize that you want to stay in tip-top shape and be proactive about your lungs, but be careful to not over do it. Going to the gym everyday sounds like it may be too often. I have discovered that if I do gym 2 days, day off, gym 2 days, 2 days off, that I feel better. And I don't get tired. I also notice that when I am breathing hard, that my throat sometimes feels it. I am not a medical person, but I wonder if the breathing and exertion, although helping your lungs, is adding stress to your throat/vocal chords? What are your thoughts on this?
Enjoy your day 🙂
Rosemary
Hi Patty @pattymac
It is so good to hear from you. I am also glad to hear that you are in contact again with your internist, this sounds like a good medical relationship, and the antibiotic for the throat sounds like a wonderful idea.
I agree with Rosemary's thoughts regarding the exercise routine that you are currently involved with - it sounds like it is probably too much given some of the other problems you have right now. It is very difficult for your body to heal and recover without some rest. Perhaps an every other day or every 2 day exercise routine would work well for your healing, especially while you are taking the antibiotics. You might also carefully think about the kind of exercises you are doing and maybe have shorter spurts of exercise (cutting the time of your routine in half?).
Are you feeling any better since you started the antibiotic?
Teresa
Ive been tired taking this antibiotic but feeling better, thank you. I have an appt with new ID Dr on 15th too.She has been in practice for 44 years, just hope it was a good idea to have my second opinion in the same network? I also went to my pulmonologist today and he thinks I should wait a little longer on my vocal cord to come back which is odd since hes the one the other week that told me to ask the ENT for his referral and make appt?Weird!
@pattymac, What a relief that you are feeling the results of the antibiotics 🙂 That is surely a mood booster!
Rosemary
@pattymac Yes, that is good to hear that you are feeling better. It would be nice if our doctors were all on the same page, wouldn't it?
Keep persevering!

Hi Patty @pattymac
I've been thinking about you and I hope you are continuing to do better. As I recall you had an appointment scheduled for mid-August. I hope that went well. Please feel free to check-in with us and let us know how you are doing. Are you experiencing some recovery from your vocal cord problem?
Teresa
As far as a cure for lung cancer if it is contained and can be removed and there no lymph nodes affected than it can be removed and cured. MY dad had this happen in 1969. BUT he would not stop smoking Camels even after having lung cancer. So 16 years later he had another occurence of Lung cancer and this time it was not operable. The first time they took a lobe out of his lungs to get the cancer. BUT this had already spread to. several places in his body. HE lived only another 6 months.
Hello @pattymac
I hope all is going well for you! Are you feeling any better these days? Would love to hear from you when you have time.

I ran across your discussion while looking up pulmonary fibrosis, signs and symptoms, regarding problems my Dad is experiencing. Not that the problems you're having are related to his. Nevertheless, I'm sorry to see of the health issues you're having to deal with. I can and do, hope and pray they are short lived and go away! If you don't mind me asking, how are you doing? And feeling? I'm not trying to be nosy. Just a concerned and caring nurse. You will be in my thoughts and my prayers. Please keep us posted on You and how everything is going.
