Lung nodules & scared!
March 1, 2017 at 7:44 pm
I had a Ct in December 2016,showed 3 nodules 6mm,5mm&4mm in right upper lobe! Last week I had a Ct bc of a different issue and ER Dr told me I had 1 nodule in my right upper lobe that was 8mm and subpleural and a tiny subleural nodule in my left lower lone and small scattered lymph nodes throughout the paratracheal region? What does this mean?Pulmononlogist called finally after a few weeks and finally radiology compared both Cts and was told I need Pet Scan which is next Tuesday. I feel frozen and numb! He said it was triangular in shape and something about right hiler? Gosh I can't even think. Advice please

What's PEs?
@rayhastings, Ray, sorry to disagree .. but I'm a great believer in doing our own "due diligence" in checking our a doctor's bios and credentials .. just because one person "likes" a doctor .. frankly that doesn't do it in my book. I've just had to do this too many times with my husband's medical issues and seen the variations in doctors .. just my opinion. To each their own. Katherine
Pulmonary embolism, blood clots in my lungs.
I need a biopsy:(
I'm really scared now!
I just had a surgical biopsy and lung resection in December. I had a new nodule in my upper left lobe that was 1.1 cm. Biopsy was negative for cancer but that is how I was diagnosed with MAI. I was also very nervous about it, especially since my mom and maternal grandfather died of lung cancer. Worrying doesn't do anything. My way to deal with it was to tell EVERYONE what was happening, that way I had A LOT of people praying for me and sending positive energy. There are a lot of people on this forum who will be doing the same for you. Gina K
I picked up report today to read myself and it's a mass that is" There is a hypermetobolic right hiler/Supra hiler mass present, which appears to partially encase the superior margin of the right bronchus at its lateral margin. The most hypermetobolic focus is seen along the posterior margin of the distal trachea where there is a peak of 13.9 present. There is also a hypermetobolic lower right paratracheal lymph node present measuring 9.2 peak SUV."
I'm not sure how bad this is but in December it was a 3.5 cm nodule so will I die fast from this?
First I want to say, You have a beautiful
smile! Breath deep and imaginevyou are blowing away those fears as you begin to
help your lung issue be blown away!
Take time out for "you" & tell your nervous system to be calm and help you heal... this is whatbI had to learn after I had lung cancer with a 3cm tumor, ground glass
pulmonary fibrosis and a nodule!
That was 9 years and 3 months ago... And to boot, I never smoked! So,with most of my left lung gone, I decided to live! Live one moment and one hour and one day with gratefulness. Then it dawned on me,
life is great because I choose to stop trying to be in control ! Lung cancer became my blessing, i ran a 5k race in 50 states in celebration of my 5?years of survival... a 10knin 4 continents and Insumired Kilimanjaro in August 2016!
Get a second opinion with a team of doctors who support you! Know you are not alone!!!
so let's stay Connected! You are braver than you realize because you had. outage to share your honest fears! I want you on my team! You deserve a big hug!

Dearest darling Patty mac:
Only God knows the answer to your question. I am sorry you are do ScareD! Yikes!
One of my doctors said, "We learn a lot more about our lungs, than we ever wanted to know, don't we ...after our scary diagnosis! Then he told me he was diagnosed with lung cancer during his residency! He had a second scare a few years ago...We both are happy he is alive, happy and practicing medicine and just saw his son graduate from medical school!
You are a survivor! So breath deep and imagine you are blowing away the fear and the disease, because you are not alone! I am so happy you chose to share your journey on Connect. You make me feel sane! I want you on my team, you will be ok! Thank you for sharing and please keep us posted!
