I’ve been using a cool mist humidifier. It’s been surprisingly ineffective. 🙁
I’d seek an allergist. You may have developed a new sensitivity. Make sure to follow instructions for test prep; there’s a laundry list of things to stop doing in preparation for testing. Good luck!

1 ReactionHi, I've also experienced fucous in the throat. But recently I worked with a Speech Therapist (of all people) and she right away saw the throat mucus. She stated clearly that constantly clear the mucus was only stimulating more mucus so she stated clearly that I needed to stop clearing my throat but drink (sip for me) some water and wash it down...and not clear up by coughing or squeezing my throat to remove it. Have been doing this for a couple of weeks and already I'm seeing some reduction of mucus. I hope this suggestion may help. Simple enough that mucus expulsion is only generating more mucus!

1 Reaction@richardpassoth WOW!
A speech therapist said to me that continued coughing up phlegm only reinforces it production. So she stated clearly that I should wash down any phlegm with water every time it occurs. Slowly this reduces the amount and time of phlegm production. Simply coughing it up only reinforces its production in your throat. Hopefully this helps.

I have been on a regime on vita c, zinc and d for 2 years. I have had this cough/ clearing of throat for 2.5 years. Doesn't seem to help. Been on prescribed histamine and nasal histamine sprays with no help either

Thanks for this feedback. Yes, have tried various medications with no benefit. But a Speech Therapist did recommend that I swallow any phlegm (or wash it down with sips of water) since coughing it up only produces more phlegm. It simply reinforces the problem. Hope this helps. Try swallowing or washing it down persistently (not coughing it up) and see if this ends the reinforcement. Try it.
