Gated ct vs high resolution ct scan at sanger institute
I was measured with a 4.6 assending aorta with a high resolution ct when they were checking my lungs. I now have been referred to a cardiologist ( Greg Sinner) at the atrium Sanger heart institute in Charlotte. There going to redo the ct with a gated with contrast along with echocardiagam and some other doppler imaging.
Is it possable that my 4.6 will be smaller being there going to use a gated ct.. ( or hopfully not, but bigger)
And what do you think about the sanger heart and vascular institute in Charlotte. Internet says there nationally ranked high.
And John Frederick is going to be the surgeon.
Hopfully making a wise decision going here with these Drs.
(as I live within 15 miles of there)

Yes, it is possible that it will be smaller. The gating removes the effect of the heart being in motion. In my case, the gated CT measured 0.2 cm smaller than a static CT scan.
