Endometrial Cancer Stage IIIC1
Spotting in late April.
Referred to gynecologist after abnormal pap showing atypical glandular cells in June
Ultrasound showed endometrial lining thickened to 19.55mm
Collposcopy, scrape of cervix, and endometrial biopsy resulted in endometrial adenocarcinoma FIGO grade 3
Gynecologic consult Aug 4
Complete hysterectomy bilateral salpingo oopherectomy Aug 8
Pathology report: tumor in uterus, 97% invasion of myometrial lining, cancer cells in right sentinel pelvic lymphnode Stage IIIC1
Consult Sep 2: oncologist recommended platinum systemic therapy of six cycles of carboplatin and paclitaxel. Oncologist doesn’t recommend EBRT even though tumor board recommended a referral.
Anyone familiar with this stage and chemo treatment who might be able to share information on side effects. The more I read about chemo, the more I’m afraid to weaken my immune system. Seems like recurrence is likely and wondering about no further treatment?

@naturegirl5
Hi naturegirl5, I was writing to belle4 and when I took a picture to attach the response disappeared? Should I start over or is it still "out there" somewhere? Thanks
@aardvark2118 Please let me know how you feel after the Chemo and during the Chemo. Was it extremely hot on your skin of the area where the chemo was target on.

Thank you for the information about your experience. It is very helpful. It is the unknown that is the hard part for me! I will keep in touch, having this community is very helpful and supportive.

1 Reaction@dj12 I cannot see if your response is "out there" somewhere. This has happened to me too. I usually have to start over. If I am concerned I could "lose" my response I usually copy my response so that I can paste it in if something like this happens.
I hope you will try again.

1 Reaction@belle4 The unknown is often really difficult for most people. That unknown creates so much ambiguity that it's difficult to know what you are supposed to prepare for. I hope that the support from others in our community has helped you with these unknowns. Keep asking questions and I know you will get responses from our community.
Papillary serous endometrial and ovarian carcinoma stage 3. Had the complete hysterectomy. Taxol, Carbo, and immunotherapy with Herceptin.
If I had it all to do over again…I would do it all again in a heartbeat! Did my immunity get lowered? Yes, for a while. But through allowing time to heal, carful masking and no crowds, good vitamins, minerals, healthy diet and exercise…I’m healthy and enjoying life so much. I would say I am as close to my old self as I can be at my age with no ovaries or estrogen.
If this does reoccur, I will deal with it then. I do natural therapies with an integrative medicine doctor for now, so it keeps my spirits high as I feel proactive in my healing.
I hate that I live with the cancer cloud now, and chemotherapy was scary, and uncomfortable, sometimes there was pain, but it wasn’t nearly as bad as my imagination expected! Fear of the unknown is powerful. You will get through this.

2 ReactionsYour Chemo had 6 cycles. the first 2 was fine, but the 3rd & 4th were challenging. You became weak on the 5th. How about the 6th? For each chemo done, are you able to stand and walk?
How about radiation? How you feel after the radiation.
If you do not mind, what is your age range. My big sister is on her 80s. I am not sure if she can have this treatment, can her body take it.

1 Reaction@elaine9 I am about to have my 2nd treatment with same chemo and Herceptin. I did 6 treatments from March to June with the Carbo and taxol and immunotherapy. I had hysterectomy Aug 20th. PET scan showed only one area that was active. I did very well the first round of treatments. I was also stage 3C and after surgery I put at stage 4. My question for you is......are you finished with all chemo and if so what maintenance regime are you on now? If you had to have more chemo is it safe to do so? I will have a scan after my 3rd treatment and if things look OK he said I'll continue with immunotherapy only. Since he initially said that though my local oncologist, at last visit, has me down for 6 treatments with the Herceptin. She actually carries out the gynecological surgeons orders since he's an hour away. Did you have any side affects from the Herceptin? Are you in remission now? I breezed through the first 6 treatments of chemo. I was never sick. Just a little tired and of course the bone pain a few days was rough. I'm just praying these treatments knock out the rest and I can ring that bell. 😊🙏🏻
