Dmac. Hi, really glad you found us. My eldest son suffered from what you are going through and i know he had some scary times. He also tried different medications and saw a psychiatrist. As long as he was under a doctor's care, he was able to control it. The one thing i did learn from his suffering is that he could not stay by himself and wait until the episode was over. That did not work. It would be so good if you could connect with someone, maybe even from the mayo clinic, who could offer options? They are wonderful and caring people.
Oh....i am a bit concerned about the worry that you might attack someone else. Sending hugs and prayers.

Hello dmac, I am sorry to hear that you are struggling but glad you came here, where there are people to listen and to offer help.
Tell me something, please... You say that your "schizophrenia" has you feeling paranoid. Is that because you hear voices and they say things to you that make you feel bad, or maybe feel guilty or other uncomfortable feelings?
If you do hear voices, what do they say to you?
Do you think they make you feel paranoid, or scared inside?
Maybe you feel scared that other people don't have your best interests at heart?
That would be very frightening indeed. No wonder you stay inside by yourself until it's over.
It is good you are able to connect here, with people who want to offer you help and support.
We are all on your side!
Have you been prescribed medication? Are you taking it?
Best to you!

Hi, dmac. I'm thankful that schizophrenia isn't on the list of mental problems I deal with. I know that many people are helped a great deal by medication and therapy. I wouldn't be alive today if it weren't for those two things. I'm glad that you can use enough control to lock yourself in a safe room. It must be extremely difficult to live with this disease. It sounds like you're pretty frustrated. It can be frustrating not to be able to find the right treatment you need. I promise that I will pray for you to get the best help soon. Remember that God loves you and we care about you.
