Faucet that works with Pall filter for kitchen
Dear Friends,
I just decided to buy a Pall filter for my kitchen b/c I spend a lot of time at the sink and am always anxious about aerosolizing MAC from my pull-out faucet.
I already purchased the Pall filter, and am now looking for a new faucet that will be easily compatible with the Pall. Can those who have the Pall installed in their kitchens please tell me what brand and model of faucet you have that works with the Pall?
Many thanks in advance,
Aida

The line from our filter to the tap was installed with the filters. I can't see where it would pick up NTM in this closed system.
As I said, I really don’t know how this all works, but your implication is that even if there are droplets in that short line, as long as the droplets come from water that has been sterilized by the filters, then no MAC could grow regardless of the water droplets sitting there in the short tubing for a span of time, and especially since the tubing was new when filters were installed. Is this the point you were making? That would be good news as it opens up options.
Hi Aida, I have Cystic Fibrosis and have cultured NTM. Where did you purchase the Pall filter? I looked at the site, but it seem to only allow purchase if you're a business owner.
Thank you so much
If anyone can help me to know where to look for medical grade filter, I would truly appreciate it. I am new here.
Thank you
Linda
Since you are, guys, talking about filters and water, a question:
What do you do when you travel by plane? What do you drink in the plane? (there is no boiled water there).
I'm planning to go on a trip for a couple of a day to a different city, what do I drink while I'm there. I won't be able to have my tea-pot to boil my water with me? What do you do?
And when you go out, all water is tap water, so what do you drink at a restaurant?
I drink soda or tonic water on planes. I may be in the minority, but I drink what is offered in restaurants.
I carry a SteriPen in my purse and use it in restaurants. I order water with no ice and stir for 90 seconds. It was tested by Dr. Falkinham. I bought mine at REI.
That said, one restaurant I go to brews their own gingerale, which I love. I do drink that, with ice (which I think is riskier than water considering the extra piping and time in the machine). I’ll also drink the occasional margarita with ice, but as Sue has said often, we choose our risks and live our lives. I just don’t skip the airway clearance!

Yes, he said "filters should be attached at the tap where the water comes out." I don't know if this info will be helpful or not, but I just installed this week a 0.15 micrometer pore size filter that can be purchased on Amazon (yes certified: NSF-WRC, IMSL, Kiwa BRL-K1410, AIM). You unscrew the aerator on the end of your faucet and simply screw the filter on! No plumber needed. It comes with 3 adapters (one chrome, one brass, one plastic) in case the thread size is different. The supplied metal adapters fit all of my faucets but one. For that one, I took the new 0.15 filter (and old aerator for them to see the thread size) to a plumber supply and got the correct adapter that I needed for it.
As Dr. Falkinham recommended, I'm also in the process of installing a 1 to 5 micrometer filter upstream to get the larger sediment out and preserve the life of the point of use 0.15 filter. The same company does sell a model for a hand-held filter to use in the shower, however, I use the same filter everywhere---on my sinks and shower.
I discovered them on http://www.safewaterproducts.com and then purchased what I needed on Amazon. On Amazon I found them listed as "Legionela Faucet Filter Faucet Mount Water Filtration System, Tap Water Filter, Lab Tested & Certified - Log 7 Reduction." (You'll need to scroll down to find them.) The replacement filters for that model are also found on Amazon under "Faucet Replacement Filter SS-1 Plus."
I hope that gives you some options.
