I drink soda or tonic water on planes. I may be in the minority, but I drink what is offered in restaurants.

I carry a SteriPen in my purse and use it in restaurants. I order water with no ice and stir for 90 seconds. It was tested by Dr. Falkinham. I bought mine at REI.
That said, one restaurant I go to brews their own gingerale, which I love. I do drink that, with ice (which I think is riskier than water considering the extra piping and time in the machine). I’ll also drink the occasional margarita with ice, but as Sue has said often, we choose our risks and live our lives. I just don’t skip the airway clearance!
