Sub-solid nodule grew from 3.5 to 8 in a year: Wait for scan?
8mm sub solid nodule grew from 3-5 to 8 in a year. Pet scan had iffy reports. Should I wait 3 mths for another scan?
It’s in a difficult area to get to in my lung. But waiting has me anxious.
Thoughts?

Hi Dale, just checking in on you to see how you are, it's still 4 weeks for you to wait, how are you handling it??? It is an awful time the waiting and not knowing but all the thoughts running rampant in your mind???? We all got thru it but we know it's not easy for you. How did you get on with the thyroid Dr??
Thinking of you Glor
My spiculated 8 mm nodule suddenly developed a partner of 7 mm spiculated nodule. That last nodules showed up in two months. Pet scan again in beginning of August and like the rest it's the waiting... I can't have surgery to remove any part of lungs due to COPD. The idea of biopsy again is in a tricky spot and too risky. Same thing happened 2022 and we opted for radiation the nodules did disappear. Had 2 needle biopsies and never got an answer on either. So here I go again. No confirmation of cancer but spiculated is spiculated and I just want them gone again so we know the plan will be radiation. I just wish these nodules would be in a safer spot to test.
The waiting is the worst. Hope you got some answers. We just got to remember we are not alone. And it is important to have support and a place to discuss our anxiety with those going the same thing. I am hoping you get the answers you need.

1 ReactionThe waiting is definitely the worst. I waited from CT scan (looks like cancer)multliple biopsies to surgery( LLL 4 months) to treatment (biomarker testing) another 2 months and it was tough. Hopefully the nodule will NOT change in the next month. I am with you on the difficulty and I just went and did as much zumba and other active things I could to take my mind off of it.
@geimerc, Sorry to hear about the new nodule. Sometimes those nodules like to produce other friends. And without conformation of the exact makeup and pathology, it has to be hard to know what's the best course of action. I'm sure it feels deflating to have face treatment again. It speaks to the fine line that we all walk, we all know it can happen, but we try to live our lives in the interim. Wishing you the best, good luck with the PET. Did you tolerate the first treatment of radiation well?
Hi everyone, I haven’t been on in awhile. I had lung wedge resection & sectomy surgery Mon 7/28. It was cancer, but lymph nodes & margins were clear which is great news. It couldn’t be done robotically cause of difficult location to get to. So I was sliced & diced. Dr went in with microscope since it was small 1.2 cm.
They said 6 wk recovery with first two wks being rough. I am very grateful for the outcome & that I listened to my gut & got 2 nd opinion. First specialist told me to wait 3 mths.
So I have so much to be grateful for, why am I so down in the dumps?
As always, 🙏ers to all of you.

Thanks
@dalelieberman3, it’s so nice to hear from you. Thanks for providing an update. Your body has been through a lot with the recent surgery, and the emotional ups and downs from the past months can also take a toll on us. Your body and mind need some recovery time.

Morning! Good new about your results, and I am sorry it had to be a more difficult surgery. Even with the VATS surgery, I went through a little depression. I was so excited I woke up from surgery! I was excited to get home to start recovery! All my family were supportive and caring as well as my co-workers. But… then reality set in when I had to be alone during the day and didn’t (or couldn’t ) have much to do. Also when some of the pains set in, and a lot of the meds were leaving my system. Also the worry of hurting myself but wanting to push myself to get stronger and push through. I believe it’s all very normal, and I also believe if you can stay positive and push for very small goals that increase over time, you will be Good and your mental health will improve. You just went through a major surgery and it will take some time for you to heal both mentally and physically, but Good News… You’re still with us! Try to do little things, that give you enjoyment. Watch funny shows and don’t be afraid to laugh. It will probably hurt a little but you will still feel better afterward. God Bless you and put his healing hands on you! 🙏🙏. When able… Walk, walk, walk. ❤️
