stomach swelling after liver transplant four years ago
I have a concern and would like to hear if anyone else has had this problem -- I was given a new recliner two months ago and in the past two weeks when I get up from it after having it reclined in a semi laying position== I have noticed a pulling in the rt side of my stomach area below my rt breast. In the past week now my stomach is swelling and if I sit on my bed and bend over to put on socks or shoes that I have to tie, my swelling feels like it is being pinched
I go to Cleveland clinic on the 15th of Feb for my yearly checkup and I will have a procedural catscan so I don't want to go to the er and have one here since the appointment is so close == any suggestions

The swelling in my stomach is much improved. Thanks for checking back in on me.
@lvowell, It is good to hear that your stomach is much improved. I want to assure you that we all have these 'bumps' in the road as we heal and as our organs get used to our bodies. My personal bumps have mostly included elevated temperatures that used to result in an ER visit an/or a night in the local hospital for observation. That has not happened for a couple of years, though. (Transplant was 12 years ago)
I invite you to check out the discussions in the transplant group. Here are a couple that you might find interesting and helpful as a newer recipient.

The numbness is my new normal. I had a liver transplant and a kidney added two years ago, For me it's actually an advantage, as I take insulin shots.
Hi MerryJane, Allow me to bring @lvowell and @rgt back into this conversation to share more with you about the cause of their stomach swelling after liver transplant and how it was resolved.
MerryJane, when was your liver transplant? What is your transplant team suggesting is the cause of your discomfort?
I think mine was a short bout of ascites. It finally went away after some lasik. Best of luck. I just had my 9 month checkup and was asked to participate in a DNA study for successful transplants. Hope it helps future patients.

@merryjane, I am a liver and kidney recipient, and I want to welcome you to Connect.
I hope that your phone consult goes well on Monday and that you will get a diagnosis that will lead to a treatment. Electronic appointments have become a preferred option for appointments and they do save patients from the risk of travel during this virus.
Have you had a phone consultation before or is this your first one? Will you be connected by video as well as audio?
Have you made a list of the questions that you want to ask?
