Does anyone feel old and useless with age?
Hi, I'm almost 64.. I'm feeling old and useless. My strength isn't good anymore. Like it used to be mainly side effects of meds. My health is poor with cvsd. Osteoporosis, poor circulation, hearing , eyesight, you name it's going. I always took care of myself. Now I've gotten older and everything's wrong, my grandkids don't a want me around and they are little still. No friends to talk with or do things with. Why is it we spend our lifetime taking care of family. Loving friends to end up , old and tired. Useless.

Wow you must live out in the bush when you say they sent you to Melbourne for test only to find out the bad news & now after your big opp now you have lung cancer. But then you say it better then the alternative tho ????
In my case there is no quire for my Cancer and that it the only thing they can do is help stop it from goin from my Liver & Pancreas to other parts of my body because once that happens it all over red rover. & if that happen well it wont bother me I'm ready for ever up the road head.

One very surprising outcome: I have had several "Dad Jokes" air on local TV. I never saw that coming!
Please check out my channel and see if it helps you.
Yes! I often feel old and useless. Sometimes I just bask in it. Put my feet up and enjoy not being responsible to anyone else. But to fill in those social moments, I joined the local Y and started doing water aerobic classes (I love the water); and have met a lot of "just to say hi" friends. Don't know what your area is like, but see if there are any senior centers - they have meals, card games, classes. Got a local theater? Go volunteer. Theater folks are the friendliest. Or a church with other activities. It's mostly a matter, as my Grandma used to say, "Get out and blow the stink off of you." If none of that works, try getting a pet - dog or cat, whichever you prefer. Having that responsibility and getting that unconditional love might help. Good luck.
