I’ve been hoping that they would give me some kind of pain med like hydrocodone, or oxycodone or something. Can a person Max, out on pain relief with that?
I’m really sorry that you’re struggling with trying to find relief. I can relate. It sure makes life difficult.

Dear pegsj3, Wow, without introducing myself yet, This is my attempt to respond: My personal experiences with pain is related to periodic attacks of kidney stones over 50 adult years that became so severe at times that I had to be hospitalized. The last time, two years ago, kidney stones lead to sepsis and the doctor asked me if I wanted my last rites because he was unsure if I would live. The pain was so severe I couldn't respond to him. Nine days of exquisite pain. But that pain was "come and gone". They used everything you can name from Oxy to morphine.
About twenty years ago arthritis began to develop in my left hand. Over the last two plus decades it further developed in my hips where it became severe and acute and then in my neck. The difference is, this arthritis pain comes to roost and it doesn't end.
Somehow I feel lucky that I don't have the pain that others relate in this forum.
Experience only suggests to me that the morphine type medicines like Vicodin, Oxy, and morphine don't have long lasting effectiveness. If you are like me, "doomed" as said in "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas," then after two or three years on those medicines they won't be working for you. They are better for short term pain like kidney stones.
If a person is writing the last chapter in the autobiography of their life, then maybe those meds are ok. that would include fentanyl patches.
Best of luck to you and more power to you.

You’re not ranting so don’t apologize!!
You’re living with constant pain and this is a horrible way to live.
As I read submissions written by people who live in horrible pain, I see so many suggestions that I haven’t tried yet.
You give me hope that maybe I’ll land on a solution that can allow me to live with less pain for even a little while.
Please everyone, keep posting and tell us what has and hadn’t worked to help your pain.
We are all listening!!!😁

My name is Jon, i was diagnosed with central sensitization 3 years ago to this day i can not endure even slicing an onion at the counter or transferring clothes from the washer to the dryer. My last appointment with physical therapy the therapist would not even do soft tissue treatment due to the amount of muscle spasms i was incurring.

I had a spinal fust4 years ago and found out this year my back was fused out of alignment causing me to lean forward. This year I started having severe muscle spasms in my lower back and legs Started taking Diclofenac and spasms are gone. Even tried the new drug, Journavx without relief. I hope your doctor can help you. My spasms were so severe It hurt to take a deep breath. Also take Tylenol 650 mg . twice daily.

It's good to be among people here who understand. I have fought isolation; at times in groups or situations where chronic pain and illness are not understood. I want you to know I hear you, and know how difficult living with this can be. There are always possibilities for change, I mean this sincerely. My life has had ups and downs! Really, like anyone's life does. Please share more her when you are ready.

My go-to on Pandora when I’m sad or depressed or in a lot of pain is my Partridge Family channel. 60s and 70s pop (not rock). It’s benign and always lightens my mood.

Thank you for your reply!
Yes, I took 4-6 regular adult aspirin per day for years if not decades and suddenly BOOM my stomach protested mightily!
I’ve had 2 back and 1 neck surgeries, have spinal stenosis, listhesis (sp?), and OA in several other places.
As I told my doctor once, it’s very silly for me to take narcotics when I sometimes feel strong NSAIDs would help also (because of the anti-inflammatory properties). 😢

I’m a recovering addict so pain killers make me nervous. A woman in a meeting one time said “I can become addicted to a glass of water”.
We now our limits and we need to continue to speak out, even when our doctors don’t agree.

Hi to all, I am a 72 y/o male. I have had chronic pain for over 20 years. I have had two lumbar laminectomies and two cervical diskectomies. I have on opiates for over 20 years with little relieve of pain. Of course as I have gotten older the pain gets worst. I have been on MS Contin ER 15mg every 8 hours and Hydromorphone 4mg twice daily for break through pain for over 10 years. Medicare is my primary insurance and their formulary only covers a few pain medications. I don't like taking the opiates. The opiates have caused numerous issues. I would really like to try something else beside medications.

Hay
Kelli or KrazySkiBunnie I know go ahead and laugh.
I'm a chronic pain person.
Oct 2003 a drunk man hit me and ran leaving permanent spine damage. I had a collapsed L5-S1 with 3 cracked vertebrae. My dr went thru my C-section scar (hope he put my liver back 🙃lol) and did my $423,000 surgery. I was able to walk not far and not fast. He said I would be in pain the rest of my life . Then the day came December 2015 it's a 34/8 very minute of the day issue I have done my best to cope. Pills, potions if u told me bird poo would work id go find some birds and stocks up. Ive learned drawing on myself with markers seems to afford me small break
I'm kinda at my wits end, and I dont tell anyone what im really going thru.
The last 3 yrs ive had several septic infections other places and died 4x my last 47 day hospital stay. I guess im looking for someone to talk to who gets me .
Hopefully I can find that here!
I am doing a food startup and im over at IG @krazyskibunnie2

My name is Elaine and I live near Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I suffer from chronic pain in my lower back and legs.
I also have neuropathy in my feet and am taking Gabapentin for that with so-so results.
My pain doctor had just started me on Suboxone which is primarily a medication to help with opioid withdrawal but has been found to help with pain.
I’ve been down the route of all the opioids.
I’m hoping the Suboxone will help me. I have been titrating it and by next week will be taking four pills a day.
I hope this works.
I can’t live with this pain anymore. If the doctors can’t find a solution, I will put MAID in place and just go away. I have no quality of life living with this constant pain.
