Sunil123, Yes, along with what I listed 1-8. It took 2 years for it to go away. If I get an
upper respiratory infection, I tend to have it again, but not as severe, until the upper
respiratory infection clears up.
I pray you are getting better. Blessings...
I have either extra mucus in my throat or no saliva in my mouth. I would say this sucks but it doesn’t fit either circumstance.
😕😢
@suefish That is my problem exactly. I can take a drink of water before talking and I can't even make it through one sentence before my lip is sticking to my teeth and my throat so dry it feels like I'm swallowing knives. Unfortunately, added to this is the most vile taste in my mouth. In nine months of this, I've never been able describe the taste, except that it is nasty, gross, disgusting... I'm afraid for my teeth because I think I'm a chain sucker of Werther's Original hard candies. Those work for both Sahara dry mouth and awful taste. But only when I'm sucking or eating something else.
A friend has same lack of saliva after COVID. He can’t eat meat because of it. I did some research for him and acupuncture was found in studies to be the most helpful
I have had excessive saliva since Covid, over 4 1/2 years ago. At first my salivary glands would swell so large, it was hard to swallow. I would asperate myself because I would inhale by accident my excessive salvia. Which caused me to cough and have a sore throat for weeks. I saw many specialist, who had no idea as to why thiis happening. I started eating more spicier foods, sour balls, and drinks to try to clear out my glands. This has helped with my swelling glands, but not the excessive saliva issue. I have just gotten use to swallowing alot and maybe waking up to a drool ridden pillow.
earthangel, I empathize. I had excessive saliva & mucus for 2 years after having Covid twice.
I took NAC supplement and tried everything...you name it. I went to 5 different doctors and
nobody could help me.
It finally went away after 2 years. However, when I get a sinus infection or upper respiratory infection, it returns until I am cleared up. I get choked on it at night when it ramps up.
Praying yours will go away. I believe COVID attacks our salivary glands and mucosa.
I'm going to go ahead and see an ENT just to rule out anything major but I suspect I'll have the same results as those above...they don't know why the excessive saliva exists. My Covid doc confirmed it MAY be spike proteins caught in there... Has anyone tried Nicotine gum with any positive results for this?
Understood and I’m right there with you.

Yes, going on 4 years...
Oh my! Yes, indeed, I too, have been experiencing hyper-salivation. It is amazing just how many different symptoms can be attributed to this vile Long Covid.
FATIGUE, brain fog, dizziness, weakness, muscle cramps, peripheral neuropathy, forgetfulness, plus other oddities which I am sure are being over-looked.
The ability to learn about the experiences of others is greatly appreciated!
