Anyone been prescribed Ohtuvayre (new med)? Your experience?

Posted by kdalda75 @kndaustin71, Oct 18, 2024

Has anyone been prescribed the new COPD medication by their treatment team....Ohtuvayre? Just wondering if it now active, how it is effecting patients and how well it does/doesn't work

Yes, and stem cells. Things seem to be going nowhere fast…

I have stage emphysema and tried it. It's very expensive but fortunately insurance covered it. The first time after 3days my symptoms were worse. I called the pharmacist at the drug company and was told to stop for a few days and try again. Idid, with the same result. It works for some but not for me.

Mine is almost clear with a yellow layer in bottom. Once I shake it it turns cloudy pale yellow.

I have been on Ohtuvayre for about 5 months along with Dupixent. I have not notice any improvement with either of them. I also take trelegy. I’m not sure why I am on Dupixent, I never had high eosinophil levels. Caught the Flu type A in February while on both of them and spent 6 days in the hospital. Now on O2, 3 liters at rest but 5-6 liters when moving about. I have COPD but no Bronchitis.

@sunnydaysatlast — you should speak with your prescribing MD and ask what change(s) you were supposed to have with these 2 new meds and mention you’ve seen no improvement. See what your MD says.

I have written up a bunch of notes, I see my pulmonologists tomorrow, we will see what he says but I see no benefit in continuing.

I’m wondering if anyone with severe COPD has been prescribed Ohtuvayre? I’m hesitant to begin and the pharmaceutical company isn’t able to provide an answer. I appreciate any information.

I have very severe COPD/Emphysema and my Pulmonologist prescribed it for me. I have been using it since beginning of April and I have not had any side effects. It has helped me with my breathing as it is in addition to my other meds.
Your pulmonologist would be the person to talk to.

I am severe as well and have been using it since mid-August. It has helped me considerably and I hope it continues.
