Post menopause symptoms
I am post menopausal. I am 62 and feel like I'm going crazy...I get worked up and anxious very easily. I have absolutely no patience anymore. I can't seem to remember the simplest things. I cannot seem to make up my mind about anything. I am absolutely miserable. Spoke with my therapist and she mentioned post menopause. Anyone else dealing with this?

Welcome to Mayo Connect, what you described could definitely be symptoms of menopause. I went through menopause very early due to total hysterectomy. It is not fun. The body goes through many changes due to hormones changes.
I suggest you talk to your primary provider about, there are options to help with symptoms. You may also want to check if there is a Women Clinic in your area that specializes in treating menopause.
What did your therapist recommend?
I’m 51 and dealing with the same. Feel like I’m losing my mind. Hoping to work with a new GYN on some hormone replacement. It is not at all fun!!
Things are so bad for me I feel like I'm going crazy too. When I went to my therapist I told her I can't stand my job. Everything irritates me. Things that shouldn't , do. I've been at my job for 28 years and for the last 3 or 4 years literally can't stand my job. She mentioned post menopause . Suggested I get my numbers checked .
Hi,
That is awful that you are having such a time because of menopause! I'm 79 and when I went through menopause I made certain that I took my vitamins and ate a lot of healthy foods and nothing with preservatives in them; no frozen dinners, pizza etc. Only natural and often home made foods. I had very few problems except the weight gain. But I could control that.
Also look at the side effects of all your medications and over the counter drugs. Often they have side effects that you wouldn't expect. Be sure and get plenty of rest too.
One more thing that helps immensely is prayer. Just tell God everything that's wrong and ask for his help. He will answer your prayers and make everything good again. He's helped me many times over the years. I'll say a prayer for you.
I wish you the best.
