Has anyone experienced internal vibrations?

Posted by redladyjoni @redladyjoni, Nov 26, 2018

I started having the only way I can explain it is internal vibrations. I've had them for 3 months now, I went to t hihe ER and they told me it was anxiety. A doctor diagnosed me at a clinic as having Lyme disease I've started a 21-day prescription of Doxycycline I'm on day 7. I went to a psychiatrist a week ago to get something because of my nerves are just over the brink. He prescribed me Gabapentin and Valium I've only been on them a few days.
Has anyone experienced these internal vibrations?I have them almost 24/7 chest neck stomach from the hips down. I have more lab tests that should be in today, but the doctor's office said that they would not call unless there was some abnormality in the lab work.

My neurologist tried me on 4 different Parkinson drugs but nothing helps. I'm waiting to see a third neurologist. This is making life unbearable and the doctors don't understand the term "internal vibrations "

I am so thankful that you shared this I have had internal vibrations from my abdomen to my feet It’s occasionally but such an odd feeling I’ve never mentioned it to anyone I don’t feel so crazy!

Since 2018 have you gotten any answers to your internal vibrations? I've been having them for a year and a half. I've seen my primary doctor, a psych doctor and 2 different neurologists. I've had tests for Parkinson and MS, both were negative but I've been treated with 4 different Parkinson meds and nothing works.
Did you finally get an answer? Doctors don't seem to understand what I'm feeling and it's driving me insane.

Did your neurologist do a small fiber neuropathy skin punch biopsy? Did your neurologist do EMG/nerve conduction studies of upper and lower limbs? Were you told you have large fiber peripheral neuropathy? Are you taking any medications or supplements to calm your nervous system?

Yes. Mine were associated with anxiety. I started taking 60mg of Cymbalta and they went away. Internal vibrations are hard to describe. The medical community did not understand what I was trying to explain.

The only test ran were MRI AND DAT SCAN. To check for MS and Parkinson. Both were negative but second neuro Dr. Put me on Parkinson meds to see if it would help, but it doesn't. Yes I occasionally have anxiety but my Xanax doesn't work either for vibrations.

I experience them occasionally & described them as a purring sensation in my chest, like you hear from a cat. He looked at me blankly & said he didn’t know what could cause that. I have heart atherosclerosis & CHF, & mitral valve disease. So no tests for anything new, I just live with them!

I have them 24/7. Mine are from a spinal cord injury that left me with pinched nerves from neck to lower back. I think an MRI of your spine would rule that out if you think you might have arthritis of your spine.

Absolutely, sometimes it feels like a small car battery running throughout my body. For me, I am a very neuro-reactive person to everything and everything: Stress, trauma, sugar, fatigue and even excitement. I also have body wide Myokymia that comes and goes. My body calls the shots now.

I find this very interesting as I have been suffering since 2020 with a back injury and nobody has related my purring/vibrations to this. I am very interested in linking these two things together.

Please explain to me what you mean by neuroreactive as I am responding with vibrations quite similarly to your explanation. I’ve experienced myokymia in my eye before not sure of it anywhere else.
