Has anyone used Trelegy?

Posted by guinivere @guinivere, Oct 24, 2024

I have been on Advair HFA for a long time, over 10 years. My COPD per tests today is stable, but I have wondered if I should switch to something different. I did not know the doctor I saw today but I had had a PFT test, shared my thoughts about being so long on Advair & she right off the bat suggested Trelogy. A once a day discus inhaler, bye bye to Advair & Incruse! Now that I have switched, I am anxious, primarily because I didn't get to discuss this with her. OR my doctor! I am going to try to contact him tomorrow but meanwhile would like to hear from anyone re Trelogy &/or Advair.

I’m 70 yrs old with COPD. I was on Advair for years before my Pulmonologist suggested I switch to Trelegy.
I don’t recall the reason why, nor do I remember the differences in the meds, but I do know my lungs are as clear today as they’ve been in a long time. I’ve never had a problem of any kind.
My wife says Trelegy saved my life.
My opinion only !!

I find if I’m very mindful while inhaling and do slow steady inhalation instead of a forceful inhalation, i’m much less likely to cough.

Even when I cough shortly after inhaling, I feel I got most of the dose. Please remember to rinse your mouth thoroughly with water and spit it out to avoid a fungal infection from the steroid in the inhaler.

After inhaling Trelegy Ellipta, I start a stopwatch & hold my breath for 24 seconds before exhaling, in an attempt to allow the maximum benefit from the medicine. Does anyone one else do something similar?

I do hold my breath after I use the Trelegy inhaler . I don’t time it . Before I do the Trelegy, I make it a point to do a few deep breathing exercises. I try to clear retained carbon dioxide . It allows me to take a deeper breath with the medication. I wish the best to all here. Blessed Be, Crystalina

I use a nebulizer with 2.5 mg of albuteral sulfate & .5 mg of iptapropium bromide beforehand. That takes about seven minutes &, hopefully, prepares my lung for maximum benefit from the Trelegy.

I exhale in short spurts, then re-inhale to make sure it's "good to the last drop!"
