Anyone Tried Monoclonal Antibody Treatment?

Posted by repl @repl, Jun 28, 2024

I’m wondering if anyone out there has tried monoclonal antibody treatment? If so, what were their symptoms prior to treatment and after?

Also, does anyone know the outcome of the UCSF study for this? Are results out yet?

I read a case study of 3 LC who had complete recovery within days! https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S073567572300534X

I’d like to know if this is possible for those who have older versions of the virus?

My Long Covid symptoms continue their long slow improvement. Very very slow, but it's better than nothing. I did not notice any change in my Long Covid symptoms after I got Pemgarda, I'm sorry to say. On the other hand, I also haven't gotten Covid again, so that's a plus. I'm hoping to get another Pemgarda infusion in mid-September, as that's when they think immunity wanes, but haven't gotten my doc to order it yet. Thanks for checking in!

Sorry to hear.
It is possible that the pem garden did not have the right variant in it to help with your long covid. Do you have any comorbidities and can you share with us what age you are thanks again

I'm 69. Many comorbidities: kidney transplant 10 years ago, and all the things that go along with that (immune suppression, blood pressure issues, etc etc), celiac, diverticulitis, cyclic vomiting syndrome, .... I've had Pemgarda twice more. Unfortunately my Long Covid symptoms came roaring back about two months ago for no apparent reason.

I am sorry that is rough I am 64 with pre-existing immune suppression regarding gut illness and lots of food allergies. I'm trying pem Garda on Monday for my long covid. Do you have any idea what caused your recent crash? My main problem is I'm not good at pacing all the best!

I can only speculate that a covid vaccine the week before I crashed brought on the crash. No problems with previous covid vaccines. Best of luck to you! Keep us posted!

That could have happened, I hope it resolves soon.

This is the first that I'd heard of Pemgarda. Are you doing a series of infusions or just one? I'm very interested in your results. Wishing you the best!

How long did your crash last and how severe? Mine has not been as bad as the first year of long covid, but I'm still dealing with it after about 2 months.
