ANA positive with Mitotic Spindle Fibers

Posted by wnyprincess83 @wnyprincess83, Apr 2, 2024

I recently tested positive for ANA with a Titer of 1:4 and a pattern on Mitotic Spindle Fibers. We ordered more bloodwork for SLE, Sjorgren's, Celiac, and RA. The SLE and Sjorgren's have came back fine so far. And I have no symptoms of the other 2 so I'm not too worried about that. But what other conditions can be caused by this cell pattern?

Hello I have anxiety really bad and I just got my blood results back and it says ana tilter is abnormal 1:80 and mitotic spindle fibers are abnormal and I went straight to google and see a bunch of cancer things when it comes to the mitotic spindle fiber one and I'm panicking does this test mean I'm dying? I don't know what to think after looking at google saying about daughter cells etc. I am really worried and I see my doctor Friday but I just want to calm down. Thank you. I know I sound like a nut case lol

You do not sound like a nut case! Weird blood results are always anxiety causing. I suspect your doctor will send you for further testing and or to a specialist. Try to breath and not Dr Google things. If you find interesting articles please make sure the sources are trusted and if something concerns you - mark it down as a note for your doctor come Friday. Best wishes.

Hi @wnyprincess83. I am also in the Buffalo area and just recently received very similar results. I have an appointment with a rheumatologist for next month but am curious of you found out anything more? Did you find a doctor that’s familiar with our rare pattern?

No, not yet. All I have found out is i don't have cancer.

I'm out in the Erie/Catt. line so not much around me.

I had a double positive ANA. 1:80 mitotic pattern & 1:320 nucleolar pattern. I have no answers even with having quite a few other test abnormalities & positive antibodies like ANA IgG, HEp-2 IFA, Anti-RA33 IgM, SM Ab. The closest thing to a diagnosis i have so far is autoimmune hepatitis, but it doesn't explain most of my symptoms & my numbers aren't high enough to give a concrete diagnosis. It's very... INFURIATING, to feel like absolute garbage, express to doctors how distressing this all is and have them compare your labs to a checklist and say, no but, your absolutely fine because your results don't add up to equal a diagnosis. I started questioning wtf was wrong with me in 2022 when the back to back severe upper respitory infections started, then the extreme fatigue, hair loss, rashes. It all peaked in 2024, when i ended up in the ER after multiple trips to my pcp and urgent care regarding something being wrong with my heart. I had a pericardial effusion, then liver abnormalities, then started coming down with "flu's" that never actually turned into the flu, just joint, muscle and bone pain, migraines and worsening fatigue. So far everyone agrees that I have autoimmune disease, that may just not have peaked yet, except for the person who has to make the diagnosis and treat it.

OMG!
I understand.
My PC listens to all my complaints. I had 12 yesterday. Then she kindly says I have no answers for you. And for my I’m in my 19yr of looking, so I’m sick of trying and it’s all just trying to manage now!
Best of luck! And please share if you find out anything!
