MRI with Contrast (Gadolinium)

Posted by topsz @topsz, Dec 11, 2024

Has anyone had adverse reaction to MRI with Contrast (Gadolinium)? I would prefer not having contest on my first MRI, but Dr said I have to have it. Is this acceptable or should I get another opinion?

Do you have the exam with contrast ? do you have any side effect after taking the exam?

I am really nervous about gadolinium too. I react to everything and also have kidney disease. I am going to ask, in the middle of my MRI and before it is injected, whether the image without contrast is good enough. I may also ask if I could have a very low dose. I still reserve the right to decline. Contemporary MRI's are pretty strong and can catch a lot, and the radiologist may just have to look harder!

Do you get answers from DR for questions, could you share them with me ? I will have the same exam next week, I am very anxious.
