My husband was diagnosed 2 days ago with Right side CHF and he has to take Lasix everyday in addition to his BP meds. Anyone else has been diagnosed with this? Thank you

I'm sorry you are dealing with CHF at such a young age. I'm 81 and was recently diagnosed with CHF. Have not asked what stage I am. The medical establishments could not figure out what was wrong with me for 1 1/2 years
since I had no medical issues at all prior to this. All my vitals were great , no diabetes or obesity, don't smoke or drink, blood pressure perfect, No blockage in my arteries , my lungs were good etc. Anyway I am on 80 mg latex and 20 mg potassium. I can't walk my legs swell up and I take Metoprolol for Afib which I had for 22 years. I was prescribed another pill which gave me Vertigo. Now I'm waiting for a new prescription possibly Jardiance. I feel like a Guiney pig.
Good Luck to both of us,

Did you have trouble walking prior to all the pills you are taking? Some doctors take you off everything and do a reset except for the metopropol.

I have diastolic heart failure ( also called HF PEF ( heart failure with preserved ejection fraction). My ejection fraction is normal but my heart doesn’t relax enough afterwards. Anyone else?

Hi @anng53
I was just diagnosed last month and my next appt isn’t until March 6. I’m 71. I have so many questions and concerns. She didn’t go into what to expect or what the prognosis is. Said we’d go over that at next visit. I’m pretty upset by reading about the condition online. My EF is normal too. But my left ventricle is “stiff” and can’t pump the blood well. I have swelling in my feet & ankles. She started me on Jardiance and the swelling is pretty much gone! I’m just starting out on this journey and feel kind of like it’s all a dream. What’s your experience?

I had Covid in November pretty bad. Then I kept a cough. On Christmas Day I had CHF and almost bit the dust. After recovery I was diagnosed with flutter. Now I’m being treated for flutter. I’ve been taking Eliquis and 1/2 Metoprolol 25 mg since my CHF. I am scheduled for an ablation in May. My resting heart rate is low 50’s. What is going on? I hate taking meds and that Eliquis is so expensive.

I also know how expensive Eliquis is, it’s ridiculous. My RX Insurance has it in a tier that I have to pay $590 deductible before they start paying anything.
I had a heart attack just before Christmas and when I was released, I had to wear a safe vest, which is a wearable defibrillator.
Have been wearing it 24 seven outside of when I take showers for the past three months I’m ready to throw it out the window. I’m also on five medication’s along with potassium supplement a couple months ago. I’ve started with retaining fluid in my feet particularly my right foot and my right leg has become so painful and stiff. I have problems walking Bending my knee. I’m on the following meds:
Clopidogrel (plavix) 75 mg
Eliquis 5 mg twice a day
Furosemide 20 mg (Lasix)
Metoprolol 12.5 mg
Spironolactone (aldactone) 12.5 mg
Rosuvastatin 20 mg
Potassium
Also recently starting getting leg cramps at night
The worst part is the pain in my leg with difficulty walking or standing for very long, I have scoliosis in my back, which doesn’t seem to help with things either
I decided I can’t take this wearable defibrillator any longer three months is enough
I’m scheduled for an MRI of my heart next week with fingers crossed that it is getting stronger.
I do not want any device put in my body to regulate my heart. I’ve read up. There are a lot of side effects with it could get infections, etc. etc. I don’t want that worry on top of everything else that is going to malfunction. Any comments from anybody who takes any of these meds that they do have side effects?
When I mentioned the difficulty in my leg, I was told none of my meds would have Side effects… Which I do not believe
Thanks in advance
