Long Covid Symptoms?
Hello all, I am stopping by as I have been told I might end up seeing a Long Covid medical group soon. I don't know what is going on with my symptoms and I know each person is different.
Here is what I've experienced so far since getting COVID. I have had so many tests done with so many negative results, but some that have not.
Clinical history:
Has had issues since Covid in 2022
First started as kidney pain because it felt like kidney stones, felt like stabbing pain on his lower back and then progressed to having pain in pelvic area (squeezing feeling), blood in urine for 8 days no stones.
Then felt weak energy-wise, felt issues with energy and thinking straight.
Lost a lot of weight, +50lb over the past year, unprompted. Is having a lot of night sweats.
Then started having chest pain and got a heart cath and had bradycardia. Ended up with pacemaker. Cardiac surgeon prescribed Metoprolol for arrhythmia, changed settings in pacemaker to detect certain numbers. HR was spiking into the 220s while resting and drop into the 50's, HR now stays erratic 130 - upper 40's
Then his cataracts became worse and ended up getting cataract surgery. Had surgery Dec 2023.
In June-July 2024 developed a different pain at incision site of pacemaker. Had EMG of left arm here (August 16, 2024) that was ok. Has pain in that area and radiating down to left arm. Also has left sided neck pain particularly front left side. Brain fog / memory issues, blurry eyes
Then after August 2024 (after he had EMG) he developed numbness and tingling that started L arm moved to R arm then L left leg then right leg.
First started numbness and tingling and now burning, hurts down to the muscle and bone with feelings like electrical worms wiggling around. Distributions is L/R elbows down and L/R mid thigh down.
Has issues grabbing stuff, can't determine detail/texture, can't always figure out how much pressure he is putting on objects and has been dropping things.
Feet have turned gray for a week and a half. Hands do change colors once in a while.
Has some swelling once in a while mostly on Left leg from knee to ankle, veins will sometimes bulge
Legs go out once in a while. Feels like he "can't operate it".
Feels like it hurts to walk.
Face Left side twitches and spasms, affecting his throat/voice, issues swallowing, choked once in a while. This comes and goes.
Then got headaches, located bi frontotemporal more in R side.
No rashes
Endorses dry eyes and mouth.
Tinnitus bilaterally L>R. Feels like he can't hear well form R ear.
R>L vision blurriness
Has fallen a couple times, feels like balance off if tries to move too quick. Has fallen 7-8times. Not tripping or feet dragging.
Gets dizzy/lightheaded if stands up to quickly.
Feels bloated, loss of appetite
Feels cold from waist up all the time. Not having fevers to his knowledge. Hands and feet become icy cold
Has been having urinary incontinence issues. Every day.
Has issues with diarrhea, constipation, bowel incontinence
Broke his toe and nerve pain from that has persisted.
Pain from gallbladder surgery has not gone away. Also had pancreatitis.
Sleeping a lot through the day.
Breaks into coldsweats. Gets palpitations when it happens.
cards to review pacemaker check, BP is all over the place
He has seen several medical providers for all these issues without a clear indication of what is causing them. Has seen rheumatology due to a positive ANA however extensive workup has remained negative.
March 2025 Symptoms overall remain about the same, no new symptoms. Lyrica has improved pain from shoulder and chest area. Still has numbness and uncomfortable tingling on hands and feet. Triggered by activity.
bloodwork suggests prediabetes, it does run in family
Skin bx negative for sfn
Nasal lesion was a right maxillary sinus inverted papilloma. At that time we planned on getting amyloid genetic testing and referring to . Increased lyrica for pain management.
I had taken off from work june -oct 2024 , went back, now I'm at part time barely holding onto that because of pain and fatigue and these symptoms. It is mentally & physically the toughest thing I think I have tackled and still fighting.
Holding on by a thread, and hoping everyone else in a similar situation to be able to find relief someday!
Thank you for your time.

Oh, Joffield, I sure hope there is an appointment with a Long Covid medical group. I should say finally!
Some on site, are talking about success with Stellate Ganglion Block. It looks worth a try. Best wishes
@joffield
I can relate with your many symptoms post Covid mRNA injections and infection. The spike protein is known to negatively impact nerves and endothelial cells that line blood vessels and many organs throughout your body.
Have you had MRIs of your brain, cervical and lumbar spine? The neurologist can do the MRI of your brain and an orthopedic spine specialist can do the cervical/lumbar spine to check for spinal cord/nerve root compression or lesions (the neurologist may also be able to do the spine MRIs).
@joffield
It may also be good to check your thyroid and iron levels via full panels plus check for other deficiencies/toxicities/abnormalities in bloodwork. Has everything tested so far been normal other than prediabetes?
I have had MRI's but most all is negative they say. I have not had an MRI of the spine but they are looking to do that and muscle and possible bone biopsy depending on these next test results.
Thank you for the reply!
I believe they have briefly checked my thyroid but I will have them recheck, I appreciate that comment, as far as the iron, they mention I am anemic and had very low D which I have been taking prescribed D dosages and multivitamins to help increase those numbers. Everything under the sun has been negative except the titer ANA and the light chains, but nothing seems to worry anyone so far I guess minus the prediabetes.
Thank you for the reply and things to have checked!
I'm so sorry you are having such terrible issues! That must be very hard to cope with! I don't know how you could improve your situation except by praying and praying a lot! Just ask God to help you get better and he will. God is always there for us. We just have to ask. It also helps to read the Bible. It's really a very interesting historical book! Pray often and you will see improvement in your problems. I will say a prayer for you also.

Hello, thanks for sharing. This is my 3rd year in long Covid, my symptoms are primarily chest and airway pain, breathing difficulty and fatigue. ANA positive but doctors say not enough to indicate anything. Did your doctor mentioned anything about ANA or autoimmune issue?
I read your post and wanted to give some information on a Comprehensive Covid 19 Center here in Chicago. I lost my taste/smell with Covid in December of 2022. I also had brain fog, balance issues and hives that came and went, along with being oh so tired! I was asked by my daughter to have my Thyroid checked and do a blood test because I think she noticed I was gaining weight, daily! To my and my doctor’s surprise, I had over the top numbers for Hashimoto’s and Hypothyroidism. Never before did I have this! I began taking Synthroid and Cytomel and have now weened off the Cytomel and just take 75 mcg of Synthroid to control my hypothyroidism. I have eliminated eating Gluten, Dairy and Soy due to my Hashimoto’s. I read a book by a doctor Izabella Wentz, M.D. on Hashimoto’s and she suggests eliminating those 3 foods and I did and lost the bloat in my body and my brain fog is just about diminished. I have also lost some weight. I will be seeing this Covid Clinic in April and wanted to share the number in case you’d be interested. Their number of 312-926-9900. I wish you well on your health journey.
Such good advice because COVID blew out my thyroid along with causing heart damage/A-fib. I've gone from no meds to multiples. I was always slender. No one in pix of the past generation on both sides of my family were heavy. In the last year I've gained 10 lbs while eating less than I did pre Covid.
When I looked into vaccine injury with an organization that collects vaccine injury info, I was told such injuries happen within a few days, not 50 days. Obviously, I do have long Covid which has slowed me down, so that too may effect weight.
I have good medical care, both an endocrinologist and cardiologist. I am 78 and more than 1/2 way to 79.
@lkirnbauer
Thank you for this information. I will look into the book by Wentz. I have Hashimoto’s and now I’m hypothyroid (needed to remove a large suspicious nodule with my right lobe and they also found a micro cancer). No doctor suggested anything beyond taking levothyroxine (75mcg then increased to 100 mcg). I still have many symptoms that my diet may be behind (eat all 3 of those Wentz suggests eliminating).
