Tips on minimizing withdrawal symptoms from Effexor (aka Venlafaxine)

Posted by richyrich @richyrich, Nov 2, 2016

I have been taking Effexor/Venlafaxine for years and tried to get off it a few times but each time I try to give up the chemical withdrawal symptoms are a horror story and I give up giving up. Anyone got any tips or tried and tested strategies? Thank you

CBD, CBD, CBD, CBD,

OH, DID I MENTION CBD?
It cuts all those anxiety reactions and helps sleep too.
I started with 25 mg a day, and quickly realized it calmed my rear end down!.

I will use it until the day I die.
Now I take it 3 times a day because of my multiple sclerosis. It helps me to maintain my balance so I do not fall down and helps keep me the master of my Ship.
Now I make my own CBD/THC.
Much cheaper.
I wish you well.

In what form! Liquid? capsule? CBD only, or is there THC in the blend?

Yes, please, if you take a supplement please give details, like type, source, dosage(s), etc. And, make your own? How does that happen?

I will reply to you both at once.
I was introduced to CBD 2 years ago.
I started with 25 mg, drops under the tongue. Oh my!
My MS body pain settled down in an hour.
My anxiety decreased also.
In summer and winter, I increase it to 25 mg 3 times a day, because of my multiple sclerosis. My danger months cuz of weather.
And now I look like a spry, energetic old granny, who is always throwing out jokes to make folks laugh. Its who I am.
CBD gave me my body and my life back.
I ordered from Lazarus Natural. A company out of Oregon.
CBD in coconut oil. 1200 mg in 4 ounces coconut oil.
It cost me $100 a month for 2 bottles.

I totally hear you! My “hurry” is that I want to start living a normal fulfilling life again. The side effects aren’t the problem, it’s me not feeling good on the actual medication. It’s making me numb and zombie like while my 1.5 year old grows into a more aware and active toddler. The quicker I get off the medication, the quicker I deal with the side effects and can put my “after withdrawal” plans into place. Everyone is different and have their own reasons why they want to get off the medications. I strongly believe that side effects will decrease with time and a healthy lifestyle (eating healthy, exercise, practicing meditation).

Again, I believe everyone is different. My 50% cut is working for me! The side effects are much lower today!

I get it, @laujenkins, that you don't want to miss out on the life of your little toddler and at a critical period when activity becomes a big thing for them. We called one of our children "the destroyer" at that age, cause he could not walk by a bookcase without knocking down the books or swiping at something along his path.

How are you feeling today?

My friend with 7 diseases developed this recipe as soon as medical marijuana happened in Arkansas.

HOMEMADE CBD/THC
2 tsp ground weed
2 tsp vodka
6 Tbsp organic coconut oil
6 Tbsp Olive oil
Mix in blender or food processor for about 1 minute.
Store in glass jar with metal cap.
I use 1/2 to 1 tsp 2 to 3 times a day.
The vodka activates the THC and CBD.
I use 2 tbsp of the grounds that settle in the bottle, in a box of brownie mix and bake as directed.
The cooking activates something in this mix to make a nice, home from the office, settle me right down and lets me drop the stress of the day.
I freeze them for later use.
NOT FOR CHILDREN!
This is the medicine I use for my Multiiple Sclerosis.
It helps keep me in charge of my emotions, my sleep and my life.
I wish you well.

Yes that's it, thank you.
Thank you, I was being lazy.
When I got here. There were 141 pages. Now there are how many???
It gets tiring to write everything again for each person who arrives needing help. We certainly needed it when we got here.
I've been trying to figure out some way of writing successful tips in one page or post, but I can't come up with anything......yet, grin.
