Afflovest I don't want to use it.

Posted by hbarbh @hbarbh, Nov 20, 2024

I have a new size small Afflovest that I don't want.
Everyone else thinks I need this thing but I've tried it several times and I just don't like it. It might be the cats meow for someone .... but it's not my cup of tea. Yes I have MAC and Bronchiectasis , but I've finally come to the conclusion that I'm never going to use it and I want to sell it. Where can I advertise an Afflovest? I thought maybe here... but is this forbidden? Ebay? where?

I’m looking for an afflowvest & see many on here who don’t use/want theirs. I’m using the Hill Rom and the machine is cumbersome. I want to travel in a campervan and space is a premium. If anyone wants to revisit getting rid of theirs, I’d be so grateful. I am 5’4”, 107#. Thank you!

I am thinking of selling mine on Ebay. I'm stuck in the middle of nowhere without transportation. I've had to cancel several doctor appointments because the clinics are a hundred miles away and I can't get there. My afflovest is the most expensive thing I own so I need to trade it for money to fix my car.

I live in Nebraska. I am 5'4".....94 lbs
Don't use mine. Only used for a year. I felt it didn't help. Better sputum release with my acapella. It's just sitting in my closet in bag.

Did you happen to sell this? I’m looking for one in this size

Even switching the vest to LOW still gives me tremendous rib/back pain. I am very slight build, don't weigh as much as I should, and this was just becoming more and more debilitating. Pulmonologist had a discussion with me and we are now going back to antibiotic regimen for a while (which I used to do daily for a year with my first two MAC bouts). Stepdaughter suggested maybe trying the vest once a week or two? Do you suppose this would still help?

@spfl7 smartvest has a wrap option which I tried when I initially had difficulty when first starting with my vest. Not sure if other manufacturers offer it but it might be worth a try if you still want to use your machine as part of your airway clearance routine.

@spfl7 I use Smartvest. It is the wrap around vest but after losing a lot of weight. Now 82 lbs, I have to keep vest open but still works well on my back and side. Could you try that with yours?
