I was diagnosed with a choroidal melanoma in 2019. The doctors you will be meeting with will explain a lot of what your son needs to know but feel free to reach out if you have other questions.

It's my son that has Choroidal Melanoma. Today they told him the tumor is a medium size, next tests will see if the cancer spread.

Praying for you and your son. My experience - and my understanding - is that the doctors will try to radiate the tumor first, which is often highly successful. Regular bloodwork and MRI’s follow depending on biopsy results and likelihood of metastasis.
It’s all such a shock and I’m sorry you and your family have to go through this. It’s an extremely rare cancer.

Yes very rare. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada....my son lives in Ontario.
He will be going to Toronto for the radiation and for surgery. We are a
very close family he has 4 siblings that love him so much, he has two
beautiful daughters and an amazing wife. We are in shock but believe in
prayers. He is getting amazing care.

You sound like an amazing family.
I have a good feeling about a positive outcome for all of you, a heartfelt response that comes from someone with firsthand knowledge of a cancer few know exists. That your son is receiving excellent care from knowledgeable doctors is heartening news.
Aside from cranky eye from an unusually large tumor, I’m living my best life 6 years after a shocking diagnosis.

Oh my, I'm very happy for you. Thus gives me much hope, at a time of such sadness. We are positive of course, praying to many that have gone before us, who we all miss. Best of luck to you.
