Fibromyalgia pain: Let's connect

Posted by clownscrytoo @clownscrytoo, Oct 22, 2016

Is there anyone here that suffers from fibro? I had the 'tender spot test' several years ago and I had 17 out of the 18. I try my hardest to get through the pain with my 4 hydrocodone/acetaminaphine pills a day, Tiger Balm rubbed into areas that are the worst, light exercises, and distracting myself with hobbies or chores, etc; but there are many occasions where none of that helps and I spend most of the day holding down the couch, getting up about 30-45 minutes after that, walking/standing around the house for 15-20 minutes, or sitting for about 15-30 min. I do not drive and my husband works 6 days a week, overtime almost every day, so I'm alone a lot. my wonderful husband is very supportive and I am very grateful for that, but my only other friends are online, out of state, and I will probably never even get to meet them. when extreme pain takes over, my depression takes over and it is so difficult to find hope. does anyone have tips for fibro, whether diet or over-the-counter meds (I've tried them all, I think), or anything, besides hobbies and such? I've tried every over-the-counter med, and the Tiger Balm does cover some of what the pain pill doesn't help, but I'm hoping one of our members might have some knowledge that could help. I'd really appreciate it.

@sundance6 and @lioness, At one time I was really serious about getting one from SaunaSpace after reading some of the science behind their design and reading some of the reviews. It's on my bucket list if Publishers Clearing House pulls up in front of my house 😂 Who knows, this may be my year to get one.

Thanks for the info! Been one of those days! Actually went out and saw a very old Friend/customer this morning. First time I have done it in a while. Got home and had lunch and a nap. Been in my office dealing with offshore call centers in the Philippines and India! Any relaxation I had from my nap was negated with the call centers! GGGGGGGRRRR!
Going to look up the info up on the infrared devices in the morning on Amazon!
I used to have an old friend that had a Sauna built in her house! It was Wonderful!
Have a pleasant night!

I did take a minute to look them up. I'll go back in the morning and do more research! My job is very different, I work with Military bases, resorts, golf courses with sourcing different product from different places around the world! So much of the world has changed in the last year, which has been good for me! I can conduct business online! No traveling! After 40+ years traveling the break has been nice! No time zone changes!!
My real bad episodes started a year ago when I was on a very long an intense trip on March 14 when everything happened! Somewhat of a coincidence! I haven't been well since then!
Today was one of the first days since then that I could go out and see a local friend/customer! I was out for 2 1/2 hours and made it ok!
It's 8:30 PM MDT here, and I'm heading for bed.
Will be interesting how I do tomorrow! I kind of went against doctors orders and was out all this morning.
Thanks,
Sundance(RB).

Hello ... noticed "tapping" and co-incidence, bed day today (again) and sorting through papers and found my old notes about Tapping. I even had a friend of a friend come over here years ago to show me how to do it. There are some variations. I forgot to keep doing it but he said himself, he sometimes forgets to do it when he has an ache or pain. (maybe my list has grown too long lately)
Just had another quick look at instructions and I must have torn out 3 pages from my book I had so I could photocopy for someone else: Chapter: Healing and Dealing with IBS but it can "work" for just about anything. Thanks for reminding me/us.

** May I ask: Is there a section anywhere here about dental work when a person cannot take Lidocaine etc? I have developed internal shaking getting worse/bad (cant see shaking from outside) on top of P.N. and we are trying to find out if its dental numbing agent such as Lidocaine, Epinephrine and I have a toothache and they don't want to use any ......aine type meds...for the extraction: general anesthetic but may wait weeks.... sorry to include with tapping but I will even try it for toothache this afternoon. J.
