Long covid NMN cocktail, what dose?
Greetings, has anyone tried the long covid NMN cocktail? I saw it on an NIH posting, it is based on nicotinamide mononucleotide, The interest is that as a precursor to NAD+ it can help modulate the immune system response, which might help reduce long covid symptoms.. I have been trying a low dose version for two months, it might have helped a little. If you have tried this, how much NMN/day are you taking? Thanks! Greg

I have had Long Covid since contracting it in October, 2020. I did not have to go to the hospital and have managed my symptoms with a wide assortment of supplements including amino acids for the mitochondrial damage which seems to be the worst part of it for me at this point in time.
I see that NMN has recently become available and I'm very interested because it appears to deal with the energy deficit issue.
In fact, I took the RSV vaccination 2 days ago and seem to be stricken with PEM (Post Exertional Malaise - visit the Bateman Horne Institute for more information about this) today.
Any reples are appreciated.
I have had nearly 25 infusions and must say that my neuropathy in my feet is better, but my balance is no better and maybe even worse. It is unlikely to be the result of the gamma globulin however. I am still not able to walk much after 4 years. Some of it is due to my knees giving out, but mostly because of balance and dizziness problems. I am going to Cleveland Clinic at the end of the month to see what they have to say. I look forward to following any new treatment you discover.
I have been approved for the Cleveland Clinic ReCOVer Clinic. Can you tell me what your first appointment involves? Anyone else been to this clinic?
Thanks, Lucy
What is LHC ?
I have LC (Long Covid) and am considering taking NMN which has just been approved for use in the USA.
Thank you.
I’m sorry you’re suffering. I too have Long Covid, no taste or smell for 2 years and I had developed anxiety from it. I’ve had 7 Stellate Ganglion Block Injections and so far, they haven’t worked for me. The injections did make my anxiety a little less, but hasn’t brought back taste or smell. What is this NMN medication you’re talking about and what is it suppose to do for you? Side effects of it? Thanks and I hope you feel better soon. Merry Christmas!
Does this somehow relate to nicotine rumors?
I bought some tobacco chew and instantaneously felt better. I did not want to rekindle a former addiction so l bought pills and patches.
Perhaps I am an outlier. I do know about me. Debilitating fatigue vaporized almost overnight with vigorous had physical work , combined with nicotine
I am now still busting my 76 year old butt every day while slowly tapered off the nicotine pills
The bears are still hibernating. By April I'll be ready to wrestle them again. If current trends continue.
Sorry for the typos.
I have the same problem with balance and have been this way for over 4 years due to COVID. I have had 25+ infusions of Gamma Guard with no change in my balance. But, this isn't to say that others may benefit. Mine has been paid bo Social Security so far. I really don't have many options left. I have been to 5 different physical therapists including generalists to therapists specializing in balance and have seen no improvement. I have done accupuncture, mental health counseling, and anything else I could think of to no avail yet. But, I am not going to give up because we are all different and just because it didn[t work for me, that doesn't mean you shouldn't try. I am taking the primary medicine for Parkinsons disease now to see if that helps and so far no change. But, keep your chin up an keep reading the literature for all the options you can dig up.
I also try to keep up with the scientific literature. The same as you, I can barely walk and then with the use of a walker to keep from falling. What have you tried so far?
