Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA): Anyone had success?
Palmitoylethanolamide (PEA) user for at least 6 months. Seemed to work after several weeks, then not, then somewhat, now not at all and the burning pain is spreading to most of my body. Anybody find success? Is this how it works for you as well? Just hate to throw away money and continue unnecessary/ ineffective supplements. I use the Ergomax brand.

I tried the first 300 mg dose last evening but was awakened about 6 hrs. later with severe itching on both lower legs and ankle areas...I don't know if cause/effect applies. Has anyone else experienced similar PEA side effect?

1 ReactionPEA (palmitoylethanolamide) is an oral supplement someone else had mentioned as working 60-70% at relieving
his neuropathy pain. Of course I couldn't find his comment after using it. There are a few vendors on Amazon which is where I bought it after reading of it here.

1 ReactionI've been taking 1100 mg PEA for last six months in combo with another vitamin regiment (The Protocol).
Overall, my pain is better.
I get my PEA from https://thewelltheory.com/
There is research supporting PEA treating neuropathy so its worth trying! For example...
Palmitoylethanolamide in the Treatment of Chronic Pain: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10053226/
Effect of PEA-OXA on neuropathic pain
https://jneuroinflammation.biomedcentral.com/articles/10.1186/s12974-018-1303-5
Good luck!

5 ReactionsThanks for the references ohiodoug. I'm still leary of using PEA after my severe itching episode from one XGold Health 300mg . May try another brand after a short break.
The Indians (Guardians) will get 'em next year. Go tribe!
Be Careful. I ordered PEA from Amazon, but will return it as I found out that you should not take it if you’re on Eliquis (blood thinner).

6 ReactionsThanks for the input, jchet. I do take coumadin the old school blood thinner and have not checked with my cardiologist yet. Sometimes I DO get the correct, safe sequence for meds, which makes old age so much more fun.

1 ReactionIf you have Neuropathy and have not used Alpha Lipoic Acid, you need to try it. It's usually 600mg per capsule. Use 1-2 capsules. I have found this to be 90-100% effective, if you aren't to far gone. I use ALA by (Bulk Supplements). It works in an hour. Very effective
