I’ve had trouble as well but instead of being hot, I’m cold. I was always an over- heater but now my thermostat works opposite from everyone else. When everyone is perspiring, I’m shivering. It must be caused by the dysautonomia I was dxd with. Your problem is probably due to same. I wish I could tell you it got better, but it hasn’t. My first bout of Covid was 2/22, then another bout 2/23 and 2/24. I am really sorry you’re experiencing the heat. The cold is much easier to live with, I think. Best to you.

I only had covid once, in January of 2022, and feel bad that you have had it three times and are now cold and have dysautonomia. I have autonomic testing scheduled for early December, but I feel that my thermoregulation issues are caused by dysautonomia, too. Have you tried treatments that haven't worked or are there no treatments out there?

I’m unable to tolerate heat—hot showers, warm room etc. had to cancel a trip because hotel room warm and stuffy and developed tachycardia, nausea, feeling faint so did not feel well enough to get on flight.

That's so sad, but I could easily imagine that happening to me, too. The heat just sucks the life out of me. Do you just avoid heat or have you found any strategies that minimize heat's impact on you?

I take LDN now, since February, started at 3mgs once daily now take 4.5 mgs once daily. It’s helped tremendously with neurological symptoms of horrible vibrations and rumbling in my head and constant pain on the top right of my head. Maybe with fatigue as well though I think that’s gotten better in its own. I don’t think it’s helped with temperature regulation. But you can try it if a doc will prescribe it for you. I get mine from a pharmacy in Florida.
LDN is low dose naltrexone- what’s in Narcan for drug overdose. No side effects usually. Good luck !

That's really interesting @bmd . I'm glad it has helped you with those horrible neuro symptoms. What a crazy disease this is! I will add this med to my list of questions for my next appointment. Thank you for sharing your experience with me.

I just bought a small battery fan that can fit in my purse. I wear lightweight socks and shirts. If a room is too hot I have to leave.

I have tried a spray bottle of water to cool my skin, and it helps when its a little warm. That may help you, too.

I am always cold. I have hypothyroidism but it wasn’t as bad until after covid. I can be freezing while everyone around me is hot.

I also have hypothyroidism, @shawnasierra, due to radiation for breast cancer, and have been slightly less heat tolerant since then, but it is nothing like this!

No, you are not crazy. I am the same way. He used to be somebody always cold with layers of clothes on. Now I’m in shorts and a tank top with a blanket when it’s cold. And when I get cold, I get really cold, which makes everything hurt worse, can’t win for losing.

Thank you @armalone. I am feeling the cold, too, but getting chilled and shaking resolves within an hour of being in a warm environment, while overheating can trigger diarrhea and constipation that goes on for weeks.
