If one goes sleep normally then after a few hours he/she wakes up and cannot get back to sleep easily. Any advices are greatly appreciated.

Trying walking or even running for a solid hour, anytime during the day. Many people who do sleep very soundly at night.

You could try a small dose of melatonin. By small, I mean 3mg or less. It should be taken as soon as you awaken, and you can read in low light (never use a digital screen...of any kind....for any reason), or do a crossword...something that requires little movement. Believe it or not, arithmetic is relaxing. You could do scale conversions, or design something in your head, or build something in your imagination, go through all the steps. This kind of meticulous process can bring on calm and a yawn. If you find yourself yawning, and/or drifting off topic, it's time to return to bed.

Look up strategies from cognitive behavior therapy for insomnia. May be helpful. There’s also a free app CBTi

I would like to run, I put in to many miles when I was younger and now have a bad knee (torn meniscus). I am on my feet all day easily get 10k steps a day.

Prayer to Jesus Christ helps me. Also, trying to shut down at least an hour before going to bed. Irrational fear keeps me from wanting to go to bed. This is tied to early childhood trauma. Not saying that you have that.

I had extreme insomnia for so many years. I started using Delta 8 and later, under the advice of my doctors, got my certificate and started getting THC gummies from my local dispensary. I started sleeping so much better. Another important thing for me was audio books. I pick a book that lasts about 7 to 8 hours and play it all night. Now I sleep like a normal person after years of actually being afraid of going to bed because I knew worrying thoughts and watching the clock was in store for me.
