Grover's Disease: What works to help find relief?

Posted by 43219876x @43219876x, Sep 23, 2016

I have been diagnosed with Grover's disease under my breasts. I had a biopsy for diagnosis. Tried topical ointment with no really good results. Any ideas?

I also have a healthy immune system - waited 6 months between shots, so probably that did not affect. I don't think anyone is aware of this as a possible side effect of the vaccination. Certainly dermatologists don't seem to be aware. The case of shingles I got after the last shot was pretty mild. Had never had shingles before. GD started almost immediately afterwards. But I had had itching between my shoulder blades for several years - worse at night, but never a rash. My husband was slathering cream on my back every night because I thought itching was caused by dry skin. Then after shingles resolved, my husband started seeing the rash which then covered my entire torso, front and back, wherever there had been previous sun damage. How these are all linked is an interesting mystery.

babbs- my derm told me that what I thought was a GD recurrence was probably 100% related to the Shingrix vaccine I got earlier in the week/

Well it’s important to report to CDC as possible related reaction. One report won’t trigger an investigation, but many reports will.

No surprise here.

I am going to report my GD as a possible adverse reaction to the shingles shot. I would encourage anyone who feels they have had a similar experience to do the same. Because I'm new on this group, they won't let me post the link, but you can Google reporting adverse reaction to vaccination and you will find the government website. They will want the dates of the vaccine and dates of outbreaks of shingles or other symptoms. I'm also going to tell my MD.

In addition, your doctor should report it. CDC website encourages both patients and doctor to report. I had a 5 month time lag between last shot and shingles onset, but GD right on the heels of shingles. They don’t know unless we tell them.

I have no bumps, I have been test to Celiac disease and it was negative. Been on all allergy meds, Zantac (H2 inhibitor), test for PV negative, tested for metals (negative), allergy tested skin and blood (no allergies), I shake on the inside, under my breast "sweats" and has a funny odor. Tried gluten free, dermatologist soaps and lotions, free on all soaps and washing liquid, CT scans, lung XRays, blood work with an oncologist all negative. DO I have the symptoms of Grover's? I don't fit the symptoms for this do I? I need help! Who test for Grovers?

I have the shakes inside, crawling, biting, tingling skin, no appetite, can's sleep the night before the symptom of my skin start. I get the hiccups, under my breast "sweat" and have a funny odor. I have been to 2 oncologist, neurologist (who did nothing but talk about taking my meds), dermatologist and allergist as well as my PCP and NO ONE has a clue. My life is a miserable state. Cry at night until I wear myself out (I am 50) not in menopause saw my ObGYN. HELP! PLEASE

Diagnosis of Grover's is through a biopsy . If you itch like crazy and have red bumps...possibly Grover's. If just itchy and no red bumps...likely something else

I agree. You need 1 or 2 biopsies from two different dermatologists to do grovers.
