Trivial things like toilet paper.
She also thinks her apartment is bugged and someone is monitoring her.

Unfortunately this situation is so common. I went through it with my mom; in her case major clutter and hoarding added to the problem. My mom saw people in her swimming pool (lived in FL) at night, usually naked! I just wish I had the advice I just read from others here--LET IT GO. I argued, tried to comfort--just doesn't work. There seems to be a single-mindedness of those with dementia--what they think is what they think and you can't change it. And stealing--when most of the time she would hide things herself and then forget. And everyone including me were under suspicion. My husband has that single-mindedness now, and I have a nice anxiety medication and take 1/2 a pill (not daily by any means) that keeps me calm--probably more psychologically than medically to stay calm and not argumentative (my natural state).
My mom has been hiding her $ and taking her wallet out and hiding it in her room and her purse and she swears people are stealing from her too- reguardless that i find it every time still someone is stealing- my son abd daughter in law and kids live here too and she is constantly calling her the b word to me because she is convinced ahe is stealing from her. Im SO worn out and tired of hearing her foul language and absolutely false accusations about her i have a lock on her door which is always still locked when she gets home from anywhere she goes.. i mean being human has its limits. Im So tired. No one in my household would ever steal from her. Especially under my watch. We have given her a safe to put her $ in still she doesnt think its safe. Also going to set up a camera in her room so she can see its inly her who is ever in her room. Its so wearing.
