#Liverchat: A Twitter Chat with Mayo Experts about Liver Disease
I have fatty liver disease. What can I do to keep my liver healthy? Is the Paleo Diet good for me? Is milk thistle good for my liver?
Chances are, if you have liver disease and you're just concerned with your health, you've probably wondered what kinds of things you can do to take care of your liver. With that in mind, we invite you to join us on Wednesday, September 21 at Noon ET (11am CT) as we co-host a Tweetchat with the American Liver Foundation about liver wellness and nutrition.
To address frequent discussion topics and answer your questions, we've assembled a group of experts, including several transplant hepatologists and a nutritionist.

And a special thanks to American Liver Foundation and Mayo experts for providing us with this helpful information!
Those of us who are in the midst of liver disease, as well as those who have transplanted, can always learn ways to take care of our bodies.

@swordfish, How did it go? Did you get on? Great information to stay healthy.
I have to share that this was my 1st time on Twitter, too! And my crazy laptop and internet connection were acting up, again:-( Can you believe that I was using my iphone to view most of it. O well, maybe I'm stronger for it?
Rosemary
I did not get to see it. I could not remember my password for twitter. My memory is failing me. I did not, therefore, get the answer to my question. Sorry I missed it. Hope you are well today.
Andrew Keaveny, M.D. @AndrewKeavenyMD
For complex liver issues, we recommend you see a Hepatologist or a GI with expertise in liver disease. #LiverChat

#Liverchat question from mollyb1968 on Mayo Clinic Connect: Newly diagnosed with a GI taking care of me. Should I have a hepatologist?
@mollyb1968, I am so sorry that you missed it:-( But I think I read on here somewhere that a summary will be available.
Your question was posted and addressed. I think I recall something like, a GI who is familiar with liver or hepatologist. But please check back to the summary for the correct wording. Rosemary
Thanks for joining the Twitter conversation all. Twitter chats take some getting used to. I personally love them, but I've been doing it since 2009. I'll let you in on a little secret. It was the first time twitter chat for some of the Mayo Clinic experts in the room too. It was a hoot listening to them and how excited they were to so easily share with all of you. There's already talk of when they can do another one 🙂
Here's a picture of them in the room.
PS: We'll post the transcript of the chat in a day or 2.
Molly and Rosemary, Audrey Laine posted Molly's question and Dr. Keaveny's response above.
