I just started my treatment for MAC and can’t take Azithromycin. It caused my joints to hurt and I developed a bad rash. So they changed it to moxifloxacin. I am taking a probiotic 2 times a day and NAC. Any suggestions on the best pro-biotic? I wish I could get pro-biotic through a RX? Since it is so necessary for my stomach😥
Floraster was recommended to me by my GI doc.

Thank you for your thoughts. Ironically, my mother lived to age 101 and my father to 96 and I'm still hoping, in spite of my BE/MAC (which neither of them had) to make it within that range. Neither of them had health problems -- just died of "old age." We should all be that lucky!

3 ReactionsAt the recommendation of my dietician, I take the Probiotic called Jarro-Dophilus EPS. It's vegetarian and I have been taking it for a year now: 10 billion CFU, enteroguard coating, non-geo, and gluten free. I believe it to be very helpful while I was on the Big 3 and the Big 2 and even when I'm not on any medications now. I only take 1 a day.

1 ReactionI take the very same probiotic, Jarro Dophilus ESP with excellent results.
I love how you say “living” your life. God bless you! I always tell my doctors I want quality of life not quantity!! Clarithromycin is a good substitute for Azithromycin. See if you can have that. irene5
What brand of probiotics are you taking?
