Anyone using Nicotine patches for Long Covid?
There is lots of discussion on Facebook Long Covid forums about nicotine patches helping with long covid symptoms after a few days of adjustment to the patches. Any thoughts on this?

I am following the protocol of Italian researchers to, I hope, help restore my sense of smell lost with LC over 4 years ago. The product used is a very finely ground PeaLut called Glialia, which is a powder you keep under your tongue for 10 mins. designed to dissolve and pass the barrier between the body/blood stream and the brain. Since I’m so long without smell I spent the first month taking 2 sachets per day along with 1 alpha lipoic acid 600 mg pill, and smell training. I used to consider myself lucky if I had one smell a day, at the weekend I was conscious of say 4…so bit better. Food not smelling yet though! Not 100% sure if Epitech the manufacturers are selling in USA but I do know I GB company was selling to US. Try looking things up thru Uk charity Abscent ( though changed their name this year you’ll find a link)
I was never a smoker.
I am now on 2 mgs a day - using lozenges. You can also cut patches up. I found it challenging for first hour or so....and yet? If I rest, symptoms became relaxation!
If there is a cleansing of receptors - this may be why it packs a wallop at first. My brain fog is going and my energy is returning. I won't add more until I am stable in 2-4 mgs. E
How do I reach Italian researchers on nicotine for post covid and vaccines?
thanks - E
Latest research - woldwide it seems - is that nicotine is not addictive. Tobacco giants put pyrazine and around 599 other chemicals in cigarettes - these are waht pushes addiction.
Research also shows that nictone has receptors all over our bodies and is in many vegetables.
I lost taste and am not on 2 mgs nicotine in lozenge form. Best to begin with low dose.
Brainfog has lifted and i have more energy. I do notice my sense of smell is back and some taste
E
I have never tried a lozenge. My reaction was so rough to patches, and gum didn’t seem to do anything. So I determined maybe not for me, after trying three times.
I may give it another go with lozenge.
My taste and smell came back shortly after being sick with Covid. I have hearing loss and eye, and digestive issues that started six weeks after the initial infection ended. It’s a puzzle I’ve been fighting for two and a half years. Can’t even count the number of doctors and specialists I have seen over that time.
It is quite discouraging.
Good luck to you.
Coffee helps me.
They both vasoconstrict your blood vessels and help with the dysautonimia.
Challenging in what way?
What is the wallop it packs?
I want to try it but … are you shaky? Tachy? What is the wallop?
Hi,
.Feel tingling and flushing all over body as it hits the receptors. Not a bad feeling..
yet a bit shaky for first half hour. Hard to focus so I know it hits the brain also.
Yet, I feel it is de-toxing what was left in cells by vaccines and covid.
Each day it is a bit less. Like niacin flush- if you know that?
do not give up - there are so many doing research all over world....nicotine right now feels right to me.
Look for research on it - France has quite a bit. Dr. ARdis also...
best of luck,
E.
I just started on 1.75mg. I have PoTs too, so super sensitive.
