Transesophageal echocardiogram

Posted by pamela78 @pamela78, Jul 24 8:54am

Yesterday I had a TEE (see above) to get a better view of my ascending aortic aneurysm and leaky valve. The procedure itself was easy peasy but it left me with a sore throat that makes it a bit difficult to swallow and talk much. This is just the second day, so I'm hopeful this discomfort will abate quickly. I'm 78 and have a 4/2 aa. I don't yet know the results of the TEE but I assume I'd have been informed if it turned up something urgent. I'm all about getting tested and wonder if an angiogram is next. I'm more diligent than ever about walking everyday. Once this is on your mind, I find it tends to stick around.

Hope your throat heals up quickly!

Thank you. It's day three and it's still sore but not as bad as it was. I only hurts when I swallow. Don't you love it when the doctor tells you it might cause a "little discomfort" and it ends up being painful? The nurse says, "You'll feel a pinch" and then sticks a straw into your vein.
